At the Conference, the Directors of the Departments of Home Affairs of An Giang and Kien Giang provinces reported on the results of the implementation of the tasks of developing a project to arrange, organize the apparatus, and merge specialized agencies, other administrative agencies and public service units under the People's Committee of An Giang province after the merger; Developing a project to arrange the apparatus of the new commune-level local government; Developing policies to support cadres, civil servants and public employees after the merger of the two provinces; Resolving policies and regimes according to Decree No. 177/2024/ND-CP, Decree No. 178/2024/ND-CP, Decree No. 67/2025/ND-CP of the Government and document and archive work during the arrangement process. The Director of the Department of Finance of Kien Giang province reported on the current status of the office and public service facilities; Plans for handling finance, assets, logistics, public investment projects, document storage and digitization, conditions to ensure service when merging An Giang and Kien Giang provinces. Concluding the Conference, the Chairmen of the People's Committee of An Giang and Kien Giang provinces emphasized that in the past time, the People's Committees, units, departments and branches of An Giang and Kien Giang provinces have closely coordinated, and so far the contents of the work to prepare for the operation of the new An Giang province have been basically completed. From now until the expected date of the province merger, there is very little time left, therefore, the Chairmen of the People's Committee of An Giang and Kien Giang provinces requested that the leaders of the departments and branches urgently complete the project to merge the departments and branches of the new province, as well as the draft regulations on functions and tasks, and at the same time agree on the personnel of the departments and branches before June 17.

The Chairmen of the People's Committees of An Giang and Kien Giang provinces assigned the Departments of Finance of the two provinces to urgently coordinate in reviewing and unifying the targets and tasks for socio-economic development of the new province; at the same time, advise the Provincial People's Committee to assign targets and tasks to the new communes before June 20; complete the plan to handle finance and the state budget in 2025 when reorganizing administrative units at all levels and building a model of organizing a 2-level local government; programs, tasks, and public investment projects in the medium-term public investment plan for the 2021-2025 period and the public investment capital plan for 2025, ensuring the stability of the state budget estimate for 2025 assigned by the Provincial People's Council.

The Chairmen of the People's Committees of An Giang and Kien Giang provinces agreed to direct relevant departments and branches to draft policies and regimes to support, means of transportation, accommodation, and workplaces before June 20 to report to the Standing Committees of the Provincial Party Committees of the two provinces to create favorable conditions for cadres, civil servants, and public employees of the two provinces after the merger; Plan to handle finance, assets, logistics, public investment projects, archive and digitize documents; Plan to organize, propagate, assign tasks, and prepare for the Ceremony to announce the merger of the two provinces to be completed before June 20.

The Chairmen of the People's Committee of An Giang and Kien Giang provinces reminded the leaders of departments, branches and localities to demonstrate a sense of responsibility in their assigned tasks, not to interrupt work from now until the time of the province's merger.
