(AG Provincial E-Portal) - On the morning of March 19, the Ministry of Education and Training, in collaboration with Vietnam Television, Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Group (VNPT), Military Telecommunications Group (Viettel), and 17 provinces and cities, held a groundbreaking ceremony for primary and lower secondary boarding schools in border areas across the country in 2026.
In An Giang, the People's Committee of An Giang Province held a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of primary and lower secondary boarding schools in 3 border communes: Ba Chuc, Vinh Dieu, and Vinh Xuong.
Attending the groundbreaking ceremony for Vinh Dieu Primary and Lower Secondary Boarding School were: - Nguyen Thanh Nhan, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council - Le Thanh Viet, Member of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front - Nguyen Thanh Phong, Member of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee along with leaders from various provincial departments, agencies, sectors, provincial and local armed forces, management staff, teachers, and students.
Vinh Dieu Primary and Lower Secondary Boarding School is being built on the site of the existing Vinh Phu Lower Secondary School in Vinh Dieu commune.
The project's total area, including the existing school and an expansion, covers approximately 29,772.45 m².
Vinh Dieu Primary and Lower Secondary Boarding School is expected to have 30 classrooms (16 primary and 14 lower secondary) with a total capacity of 1,000 students, including 300 boarding students. The estimated total investment is 180 billion VND.
On this occasion, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Fatherland Front of An Giang Province presented gifts to 5 teachers and 15 students in Vinh Dieu commune.
Attending the groundbreaking ceremony for Vinh Xuong Primary and Lower Secondary Boarding School were: - Lam Minh Thanh, Deputy Secretary of An Giang Provincial Party Committee - Huynh Quoc Thai, Member of the Provincial Party Committee and Head of the Provincial Party Inspection Committee - Vo Nguyen Nam, Member of the Provincial Party Committee and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Provincial Party Agencies - Ngo Cong Thuc, Vice Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee - Leaders of the Provincial People's Council, Provincial Fatherland Front, and various provincial departments, agencies, sectors, Vinh Xuong commune local authorities, along with residents, teachers, and students.
The school has a total area of approximately 46,834m² with an investment of over 272 billion VND.
The facilities include: - Medical center - Pharmacy - Administrative building - Specialized classrooms - Classrooms - Principal's office - C cafeteria - Multipurpose hall - Service rooms - Male and female dormitories - Swimming pool - Technical infrastructure and supporting facilities The school will have 40 classrooms (15 primary and 25 lower secondary) with around 1,400 students.
The project is expected to be completed and operational by August 2027.
