(AG Provincial E-Portal) - At 19th session of the Inter-Governmental Committee for the 2003 Convention for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage of UNESCO held in the Republic of Paraguay, Ba Chua Xu Temple Festival at Sam Mountain from Vietnam was officially recognized by UNESCO into the List of the Represented Intangible Cultural Heritage of the Humanity.

(AG Provincial E-Portal) - On the evening of November 27th, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of An Giang held a ceremony to announce the Decision of the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism to list the palm sugar craft of the Khmer ethnic minority in Tri Ton district and Tinh Bien town, An Giang province, as a national intangible cultural heritage.

(AG Provincial E-Portal) - On the afternoon of November 25, the Chau Doc City People’s Committee, in collaboration with the Oc Eo Cultural Relic Management Board, held a signing ceremony for a plan to coordinate the management, protection, and promotion of the Oc Eo cultural relics in Chau Doc City for the period 2024–2030.

In 1802, the Nguyen Dynasty was established, creating a unified administrative system for the country from the North to the South. Initially, the Southern region was divided into prefectures under Gia Dinh Province(1) (belonging to Bien Hoa and Phiên An (later renamed Gia Dinh); Dinh Tuong, Vinh Thanh (comprising Vinh Long and An Giang); Ha Tien).

Madame Chau Thi Te (1766-1826), the eldest daughter of Mr. Chau Vinh Huy and Mrs. Do Thi Toan, who were from a respected scholarly family in Thoi Binh village, Dai Islet (Co Chien River), now part of Thanh Binh Commune, Vung Liem District, Vinh Long Province. Her family, esteemed in the community, belonged to a literary class admired for its cultural values.
