(AG Provincial E-Portal) -On March 30, the 10th An Giang Provincial People's Council held its first session of the 11th term (2026-2031), Comrade Ho Van Mung was re-elected as Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People's Committee.


Comrade Ho Van Mung, Party Central Committee member, Deputy Provincial Party Secretary, and incumbent Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee (2021-2026 term), was re-elected as Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee for the 2026-2031 term, receiving 100% of the votes (85/85 delegates).
The An Giang Provincial People's Council also elected Nguyen Thanh Phong, Provincial Party Standing Committee member and Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, along with Vice Chairs Le Van Phuoc, Ngo Cong Thuc, Le Trung Ho, and Nguyen Thi Minh Thuy, as Vice Chairs of the Provincial People's Committee. Additionally, 16 members of the Provincial People's Committee were elected for the 2026-2031 term.
The An Giang Provincial People's Council elected People's Jurors for the 2026-2031 term and voted on draft resolutions regarding the 2026 regular session schedule and the rules of procedure for the 11th Provincial People's Council (2026-2031 term).

In his acceptance speech, Ho Van Mung, Party Central Committee member and Provincial People's Committee Chairman, pledged to build on past achievements, foster a united leadership team, and strive to complete all the tasks with utmost responsibility, implementing the resolutions of the 14th National Party Congress and the 1st An Giang Provincial Party Congress.

An Giang aims to become a relatively developed province, a strong coastal economic hub, and a key growth pole in the southern region, with improving People’s living standards. The province will implement synchronized solutions to achieve and exceed targets set by the 1st Provincial Party Congress, aiming for 11% average growth (every five years) and meeting 33 indicators during the term.
Focus on developing 4 economic corridors, 4 linkage axes, and 5 specialized socio-economic sub-regions. Specifically, develop Phu Quoc into a high-quality eco-tourism and service hub, an international-class beach and island destination with special and preferential policies.
Additionally, focus on successfully implementing 4 breakthroughs: institutional and governance reform, human resource development, infrastructure development, and sea and island economic development.
Promote research and application of science and technology in production and daily life; focus on administrative reforms to serve people better; attract investments to boost socio-economic development, create jobs, and increase local income; prioritize cultural, educational, and healthcare development to improve people's living standards and well-being; implement measures to protect national sovereignty, ensure security and social order, and create a safe environment for residents and businesses; and resolutely combat bureaucracy, corruption, waste, and negativity.
Comrade Ho Van Mung, born 1977, from Khanh Hoa province, holds a Master's in Economic Management, a Bachelor's in Foreign Languages, and a Higher Diploma in Politics. He previously held positions including Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Provincial Party Standing Committee member, and Head of the Propaganda Department of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee; Alternate Member of the Central Committee, Provincial Party Standing Committee member, and Nha Trang City Party Secretary; Alternate Member of the Central Committee, Deputy Provincial Party Secretary, and Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee (before and after consolidation). He was elected as a Central Committee member at the 14th National Party Congress. |
