(AG Provincial E-Portal) - On the morning of April 8th, the Party Standing Committee of Cu Lao Gieng commune held the 7th (expanded) meeting of the Party Committee to review the political tasks performed in the first quarter and to set directions and tasks for the second quarter of 2026. Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phong, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Permanent Vice Chairman of An Giang provincial People's Committee, attended the meeting.
In the first quarter of 2026, the Party Committee of the commune focused on leading and directing the implementation of political tasks, achieving positive results in various fields. The highlight is strict implementation of the resolutions and directives from the Central Government and the province, contributing to maintaining unity and cohesion within the Party Committee and creating consensus among the people.
The commune Party Committee led and directed the successful implementation of Party building work, economic and cultural development, social welfare, and caring for the people's lives, and successfully organized the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term.
In his remarks at the conference, Comrade Nguyen Thanh Phong, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Permanent Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of An Giang province, acknowledged the achievements of the Party Committee and People's Committee of the commune.
To effectively carry out coming tasks, the Standing Vice Chairman of An Giang provincial People's Committee requested the Commune Party Committee to strengthen its understanding and forecasting of public opinion and sentiment, promptly addressing emerging issues; and to effectively conduct propaganda and mobilization efforts in order to encourage the people to participate with the Party committee and government in building and developing the socio-economic sector.
In addition, it shall focus on directing agricultural production and promoting vocational training and job creation for rural workers; improve administrative procedures for the people; prepare for the ceremony to announce Cu Lao Gieng commune as an island commune according to Decision No. 1251/QD-UBND of the An Giang provincial People's Committee,...
On this occasion, 41 subordinate Party branches and committees signed agreements with the Party Committee and People's Committee of the commune to prevent the occurrence of illegal construction, encroachment on road corridors, rivers, canals, and ditches in the area.
