(AG Provincial E-Portal) - On the afternoon of April 9, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's committee Ngo Cong Thuc and a working delegation conducted field visits to inspect the state of production, harvesting, and consumption during the 2025–2026 Winter–Spring crop season, as well as aquaculture activities in My Thuan and Vinh Trach communes.

At the working session with the Hiep Loi Agricultural Cooperative (My Thuan Commune), Provincial People’s Committee Vice Chairman Ngo Cong Thuc acknowledged the remarkable development of the Hiep Loi Agricultural Cooperative. Established in October 2018 with an initial membership of approximately 10, the cooperative has since grown to attract more than 72 official members, expanded its cultivated area to 135 hectares, and achieved a charter capital of over 284 million VND.
In 2025, the cooperative effectively rolled out a range of services, including: the supply of seed rice and agricultural inputs, irrigation and drainage services, drone aircraft services, and notably brokerage for product consumption linkages with major partners such as Sunrice Co., Ltd. and Tan Long Group. Total service revenue for the year reached nearly 200 million VND, generating tangible profits and benefits for its members.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's committee Ngo Cong Thuc highly commended the cooperative’s role in implementing sustainable agricultural linkages, describing this as a key factor in the future development of agriculture. The Vice Chairman encouraged the cooperative to continue expanding its membership in order to access technology and capital from State support programmes. He also called on the Farmers’ Association and the Department of Agriculture and Environment to create maximum favourable conditions for cooperatives and farming households to access preferential credit from State support programmes.

In response to the current situation of rising agricultural input and fuel prices, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's committee Ngo Cong Thuc emphasized that the application of science and technology to farming is an urgent solution. He called on the Department of Industry and Trade to closely monitor prices and, in particular, the quality of agricultural inputs, in order to prevent counterfeit and substandard goods from causing harm to farmers. State agencies must take decisive action to support farmers at a time of sharply rising production costs.
Regarding the issue of product consumption, cooperatives and local authorities must pay close attention to the legal validity of linkage contracts. Agreements between cooperatives, farmers, and enterprises must be transparent in terms of responsibilities in order to prevent instances of contract breach or price manipulation during the harvest season.

On the same afternoon, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's committee Ngo Cong Thuc conducted an on-site survey of the linked farming model operated by Sao Mai Processing and Import-Export Joint Stock Company and IDI Multinational Investment and Development Joint Stock Company.
According to the report, IDI Company is currently implementing a linked pangasius farming zone with a total area of approximately 200 hectares across the Mekong Delta, of which An Giang Province alone accounts for approximately 90 hectares (equivalent to 45% of the total area). Raw pangasius output from the linkage activities reaches approximately 60,000 tonnes per year, meeting around 70% of the input demand for the company’s processing plants. This model not only ensures a stable supply for the enterprise but also helps farmers access modern techniques and production processes.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's committee Ngo Cong Thuc expressed his pleasure at observing that fish yields were reasonably high and projected to generate favorable profits for farmers. He also expressed his hope that the linkage between farming households and the company would become increasingly sustainable and yield better returns in future crop seasons.
In order to support the sustainable development of the aquaculture sector, the enterprise also proposed that the Provincial People’s Committee consider supporting the planning of concentrated farming zones, facilitating the construction of a high-technology pangasius seed production centre, and assisting in accessing preferential credit sources.
