An Giang youth take the lead in the 'Digital Literacy for All' movement

(AG Provincial E-Portal) - Recently, the "Digital Literacy for All" movement in An Giang has been widely deployed, attracting more than 140 volunteer youth teams with nearly 1,300 members.

The youth members come at each household, especially in remote areas, to popularize “digital technology” knowledge to the people. This is the information given by Mr. Do Minh Sang, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, Chairman of the Vietnam Youth Union of An Giang province at the training program “An Giang Youth with the digital journey - Safe digital signature, effective use of public services”, organized by An Giang Provincial Youth Union in coordination with An Giang Telecommunications (VNPT An Giang branch) on the morning of May 06.

An Giang Provincial Youth Union Deputy Secretary Do Minh Sang said that in order to promote the digital transformation process and improve people's technological skills, demonstrating the role of youth in implementing Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation, immediately after General Secretary To Lam directed and launched the "Digital Literacy for All" movement, the Provincial Youth Union and the Vietnam Youth Union of An Giang province simultaneously organized digital transformation activities in response to the "Digital Literacy for All" movement across the province. 

Accordingly, the province has established 142 "Digital Literacy for All" youth teams with 1,288 members who are key Youth Union and Association officials, and young people who are knowledgeable and have in-depth knowledge of digital transformation in communes, wards and towns in the province. Union members and young people actively propagate, support, and popularize basic knowledge and skills of information technology to people and children in direct or online forms.  

In particular, the "Digital Literacy for All" Teams have directly approached each family, especially in remote areas, the elderly to guide and popularize the use of computers, smartphones, social networks, online public services, etc.; guide people to access the internet and essential digital skills to ensure basic information security and safety, avoid digital fraud; identify and prevent bad and toxic information in the digital space... 

Previously, An Giang Provincial Youth Union also launched the model of "Streets, residential areas, markets with cashless payments" in 11/11 districts, towns, and cities in the province. Thereby helping people experience new, fast, modern, cashless payment methods using smart mobile phones through bank accounts and QR codes,... 

According to Deputy Secretary of An Giang Provincial Youth Union Do Minh Sang, in the era of strong digital transformation like today, the use of online public services and essential digital tools is no longer a trend, but has become an essential part of everyone's life. 

With young people - the pioneering, creative force, Deputy Secretary of An Giang Provincial Youth Union Do Minh Sang said that they need to be the pioneer, become an active factor in approaching, using and propagating to the majority of people in the neighborhoods, hamlets, villages, ... where they live about the positive effects of digital utilities, ...

“The small actions of union members and young people today, such as installing digital signatures and using public services to carry out administrative procedures, study records, etc., are the foundation for big changes. Hopefully, each union member and young person will be a nucleus to spread the spirit of digital transformation in the community” - Deputy Secretary of An Giang Provincial Youth Union Do Minh Sang emphasized.

Through the training program "An Giang Youth with the digital journey - Safe digital signature, effective use of public services", key Youth Union and Association officials in the province will be disseminated the Party and Government's policies on digital transformation, especially Resolution 50 and Resolution 57, by leading experts on digital transformation of VNPT An Giang branch. 

At the same time, instructions on registration and installation of VNPT Smart CA digital signature via VNeID application and National Public Service Portal; developing the "Union member Sim" program associated with digital transformation in Youth Union and Association activities, etc. This is considered a practical step to improve the digital capacity of union members, contributing to building the image of modern, proactively integrating youth. The goal is to strive for at least 2,000 union members to register and use digital signatures to perform online public services by May 2025./.
