At the working session, Vice Chairman of Kien Giang Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong briefly presented the draft project on the arrangement of An Giang and Kien Giang provinces, including the main contents: Political and legal basis, the necessity of arranging and merging administrative units of An Giang and Kien Giang provinces; current status, merger plan; assessment of the impact when implementing the arrangement of An Giang and Kien Giang provinces; plan to arrange the organizational apparatus, arrange the staff, civil servants, public employees, workers and resolve the regime and policies when implementing the arrangement; plan and roadmap for arranging and handling headquarters and public assets after the arrangement of An Giang and Kien Giang provinces.

At the conference, the members of the Party Executive Committees of An Giang and Kien Giang provinces promoted a high sense of responsibility, discussed, participated in democratically expressing opinions, expressed their agreement and high consensus on the important and core contents of the projects presented by the leaders of the Kien Giang Provincial People's Committee at the conference. In particular, they highly agreed on the plan to arrange the organizational apparatus, arrange the staff, civil servants, public employees, workers and resolve the regime and policies when implementing the arrangement of administrative units, ensuring the principle of unity, closely following the direction of competent agencies...

Concluding the conference, An Giang Provincial Party Secretary Le Hong Quang and Kien Giang Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Tien Hai affirmed that the draft project to merge An Giang and Kien Giang provinces basically meets the requirements and complies with the Central's instructions. The determination of the names of administrative units and political-administrative centers closely follows the principles and conditions under the Central's direction in the Government's Project and Resolution 60-NQ/TW of the Party Central Committee. Thereby, it is recommended that the professional agencies of An Giang and Kien Giang provinces fully absorb the opinions of delegates at the conference, to adjust, supplement and complete the project in time for submission to the Government according to regulations...

At the conference, the Party Executive Committees of An Giang and Kien Giang provinces voted to approve the Project on rearranging and merging administrative units of An Giang and Kien Giang provinces./.
