(AG Provincial E-Portal) - On April 29th, at the Thanh Loc Industrial Park, Thanh Loc commune (An Giang province), the Provincial Federation of Labor Unions coordinated with the An Giang Provincial Department of Internal Affairs to organize the launching ceremony for the Workers' Month and the Action Month on Occupational Safety and Health in 2026.
Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of An Giang province, Le Van Phuoc, along with representatives from businesses, outstanding grassroots labor union officials, 200 union members and workers from enterprise labor unions in Thanh Loc Industrial Park, attended the event.


The Workers' Month and the Action Month on Occupational Safety and Health in 2026 take place from May 1st to 31st with the themes "Vietnamese Workers: Innovation and Productivity Improvement" and "Innovation in Management and Improvement of Occupational Safety and Health Effectiveness in the Digital Age".
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Do Tran Thinh, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of An Giang province and Chairman of the An Giang Provincial Federation of Labor Unions, said that the 2026 Workers' Month in An Giang province is implemented with a spirit of innovation, practicality, and effectiveness, focusing on the grassroots units. Many key activities are organized synchronously, such as: the "Thank You, Workers program”; dialogues and meetings between workers and business leaders and the government; the "For the Health of Workers" festival; and the forum "Union members contribute ideas to building the Vietnam Confederation of Labor Unions in the new era"...
The An Giang Provincial Federation of Labor Unions directed all levels of labor unions to focus resources on providing timely care and support to union members and workers in difficult circumstances, those suffering from serious illnesses, work accidents, and occupational diseases. Particularly the provincial level provided 2,000 support packages totaling 1 billion VND from labor union funds; union members and workers suffering from work accidents, occupational diseases, or serious illnesses received support based on the actual number requested by the grassroots labor unions, with a support level of 1 million VND per member and 700,000 VND per worker.
Speaking at the launching ceremony of the Workers' Month and the Action Month on Occupational Safety and Health in 2026, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of An Giang province, Le Van Phuoc, said that after reorganizing and consolidating its organizational structure, An Giang has strived to stabilize the situation, maintain growth momentum, promote investment attraction, restore and develop production and business, thereby making an important contribution to job creation and ensuring social security for workers in the province.
Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of An Giang province, Le Van Phuoc, acknowledged, commended, and highly appreciated the efforts and important contributions of the Labor Union organization, the business community, and all workers, civil servants, and employees to the overall development of the province in the last period.
Vice Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People's Committee Le Van Phuoc requested that all levels of labor unions, the business community, and all union members and workers in the province continue to uphold their sense of responsibility and proactively innovate more strongly and comprehensively in terms of content and methods of operation to meet the requirements of the tasks in the new situation.
Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of An Giang province, Le Van Phuoc, called on all union members, workers, civil servants, and laborers to actively participate in the Workers' Month and the Action Month on Occupational Safety and Health in 2026 with specific, practical, and effective actions, contributing to the province's successful achievement of the set goals and tasks.






At the launching ceremony, the Provincial Federation of Labor Unions presented 200 support packages (each worth 500,000 VND) to union members and workers in difficult circumstances; and provided support to 7 union members for the construction and repair of "Union Shelter" houses, with a total budget of 300 million VND.


On this occasion, the Provincial People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to 10 units with outstanding achievements in occupational safety and health in 2025. The Provincial Federation of Labor Unions awarded certificates of merit to 20 outstanding grassroots trade union officials for their exemplary work in dialogue and collective bargaining.
