Delivering a keynote address at the conference, Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Tuc affirmed that An Giang, after the merger, has acquired a new, highly integrated and interconnected development structure, possessing all the elements of a diversified developed economy, with many competitive advantages and potential to develop into a center for marine economic development, international tourism, high-tech agriculture, high-quality services, and logistics for the region, the country, as well as Southeast Asia and the Greater Mekong Subregion.
The An Giang provincial Master Plan has established a chain of linkages between dynamic urban centers such as Phu Quoc, Rach Gia, Ha Tien, Chau Doc, and Long Xuyen, creating a continuous connection between coastal economic corridors, border trade economic corridors, and river basin corridors in the Mekong Delta region. This is a rare integrated development structure that, if implemented well, will create new growth poles not only for An Giang but also for the entire region.

The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that An Giang cannot develop alone but can only achieve rapid and sustainable development based on close regional linkages and must be placed within the national master plan. This is not only about arranging development space within the province's administrative boundaries but also a tool for reorganizing regional and national development space, allocating resources, and forming new dynamic zones, growth poles, and economic corridors in accordance with the spirit of the Government's resolution on adjusting the national master plan.
Determining the growth model and orientation of key industries and sectors of the province needs to be based on strong linkages, cooperation, and mutual support with localities in the Mekong Delta region, with Ho Chi Minh City and the provinces of the Southeast region. An Giang needs to be proactive and flexible in international economic integration, implementing international commitments, promoting trade connections, seeking markets, cultural exchange, and attracting tourism with countries in the region and around the world.
In particular, Phu Quoc is facing a historic opportunity as it has been chosen to host the APEC 2027 High-Level Week. This will be a strategic boost for An Giang and Phu Quoc to rise to become high-quality tourism and service centers, marine economic hubs, and international trade centers of regional and international stature; destinations for global investors and tourists; a driving force for the development of the entire Mekong Delta region; and an opportunity to affirm Vietnam's vision and position on the international stage, further strengthening its connection with the APEC cooperation network and global value chains.

The Permanent Deputy Prime Minister requested businesses to strictly honor their commitments, ensuring that "words match deeds," and preventing situations where large commitments lead to minimal actions or delays in implementation.
The Government, central ministries and agencies, and local authorities are committed to always supporting and creating the most favorable environment and procedures so that businesses can confidently invest, develop, and contribute to the prosperity of their homeland and country. "We consider your success as the success of An Giang and of Vietnam."
In planning, and more importantly, the vision, ideas, and orientations must truly be put into practice through action programs, specific projects, feasible policies and mechanisms, appropriately allocated resources, and a capable, responsible, and determined implementation apparatus. Therefore, to ensure that An Giang's planning truly paves the way for development—to create rather than manage—the Deputy Prime Minister suggested that An Giang needs to proactively and actively coordinate with central ministries and agencies in the process of effectively implementing the province's plannings, linking them to urban beautification, green islands, and clean seas to serve the APEC 2027 Summit and subsequent years; Report any difficulties and obstacles beyond their authority to the competent authorities for timely resolution.
The Deputy Prime Minister expressed confidence that, with its rich historical and cultural traditions, unwavering revolutionary spirit, strong aspirations for progress, and the unity and concerted efforts of the entire political system, military, and people of all ethnic groups in the province, An Giang will successfully achieve its provincial planning goals, soon becoming a relatively developed province in the country, a center for high-quality economy, tourism, and services, and making a positive contribution to the development of the Mekong Delta region and the entire nation.

Delivering the closing remarks at the conference, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung expressed his sincere gratitude and serious acceptance of the profound, comprehensive, and highly dedicated guiding remarks made by the Permanent Deputy Prime Minister. The important orientations, suggestions, and directives from the Deputy Prime Minister not only demonstrate the Central Government's deep concern for An Giang, but also serve as a great source of encouragement, strategic direction, and a crucial compass for An Giang province to concretize in the process of organizing and implementing the Provincial Master Plan for the period 2021–2030, with a vision to 2050. At the same time, it will effectively implement socio-economic development tasks in the new phase, and in the immediate future, urgently and seriously prepare thoroughly for the APEC 2027 High-Level Week as directed by the Central Government.
An Giang province will promptly concretize these into action programs, work plans, and specific tasks to organize and implement them with a decisive, coordinated, substantive, and effective spirit.
