Seminar: “Digital Solutions Driving Smart City Development and Digital Transformation in An Giang Province”

(An Giang E- Portal) - Over two days, May 14 and 15, the People’s Committee of An Giang Province, in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh City Computer Association (HCA), organized the seminar “Digital Solutions Driving Smart City Development and Digital Transformation in An Giang Province.”

Delegates in attendance

The seminar served as a meaningful activity to mark Vietnam’s Science, Technology and Innovation Day (May 18), while also representing a key step in the concrete realization of Politburo Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation.

Identifying digital transformation as a strategic “leverage point,” the An Giang Provincial People’s Committee and the Ho Chi Minh City Computer Association jointly designed a series of programs on “driving smart cities and digital transformation,” with a focus on practicality and execution. The initiative aims to resolve bottlenecks at the grassroots level in the spirit of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW, identify digital government and smart city solutions suited to local conditions, and create opportunities for broad dialogue and cooperation between state agencies and technology enterprises — contributing to the development of a synchronized and sustainable digital ecosystem, connecting technological resources, and delivering tangible benefits to management agencies, businesses, and the people of An Giang Province.

Director of the Department of Science and Technology Vo Minh Trung delivers the opening remarks. The series of programs was designed around two core components, focusing on addressing real-world challenges facing the locality

The Grassroots Digital Transformation Advisory Program, held on the afternoon of May 14, brought together more than 300 leaders and professional staff from 102 communes, wards, and special zones across the province. Conducted in a direct roundtable dialogue format, the session saw experts and technology enterprise teams from HCA work to resolve practical difficulties on the ground while providing advisory services on how to deploy digital solutions that closely match the specific needs and professional operations of each locality.

Advisory experts at the Program

The seminar “Digital Solutions Driving Smart City Development and Digital Transformation,” held on the morning of May 15, was attended by more than 500 delegates, including leaders of provincial departments, agencies, and sectors; officers and staff of the Provincial Police; and leaders of the People’s Committees of communes, wards, and special zones across the province. The seminar focused on the discussion of strategic topics, including: the multi-tier smart city model drawing on practical experience from Ho Chi Minh City; the Living Lab model; as well as in-depth solutions on data security, information safety, public order, and digital transformation platforms applicable at the grassroots level. Throughout the seminar, a technology solutions exhibition space ran concurrently, offering delegates a visual and hands-on experience of cutting-edge software platforms and devices from HCA’s partner ecosystem.

Accompanying An Giang Province throughout this series of events, the Ho Chi Minh City Computer Association (HCA) assembled a working delegation of more than 60 delegates and guests representing 25 partner organizations and outstanding member enterprises. In its role as a technology bridge, HCA brought a diverse solution ecosystem to the event through 10 exhibition booths showcasing innovative products and reputable digital transformation platforms. Beyond mere technology demonstration, HCA’s team of experts also provided in-depth consultancy and contributed five strategic thematic reports, offering targeted solutions to the province’s specific challenges across distinct sectors. Notably, in affirmation of its commitment to social responsibility alongside technological development, HCA coordinated and launched a series of social welfare programs with a total contribution value from Ho Chi Minh City enterprises amounting to the equivalent of VND 550 million.

Presenting tokens of appreciation to partner organizations, experts, and speakers

With a pioneering mission in the digital transformation process, the Organizing Committee looks forward to the series of activities in An Giang generating positive impacts and making a substantive contribution to the province’s digitalization efforts — thereby acting as a catalyst for local socio-economic development and laying a solid foundation for inter-regional connectivity, propelling the regional economy forward in a new era.
