(AG Provincial E-Portal) - On the afternoon of March 12, Mr. Ho Van Mung, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Chairman of the People's Committee of An Giang Province, presided over a meeting to prepare for the ceremony recognizing UNESCO’s inscription of the " Lady Temple – Sam Mountain Festival" as a Representative Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity and the official opening of the festival.



The meeting was attended by Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Huong, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of An Giang Province, and Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department; Mr. Lam Quang Thi, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Secretary of the Chau Doc City Party Committee; Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Thuy, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of An Giang Province; as well as leaders of provincial departments and Chau Doc City.
After listening to reports from the subcommittees, provincial departments, and the People's Committee of Chau Doc City on the progress of assigned tasks and proposed solutions to overcome challenges in organizing the ceremony, Chairman Ho Van Mung acknowledged and highly appreciated the meticulous preparations by the subcommittees and provincial departments. He urged all subcommittees to coordinate with provincial departments and the Chau Doc City People's Committee to review and inspect their assigned tasks, promptly completing all preparations in accordance with their respective functions and responsibilities. He also emphasized the importance of seamless collaboration in ensuring a dignified and well-organized event.
In particular, efforts should be expedited to finalize the program, content scripts, and detailed television broadcast plans. Additionally, extensive and diverse promotional activities should be implemented to widely disseminate information about the event among the public, while also proactively countering misinformation and responding to false and hostile narratives. Furthermore, comprehensive logistical arrangements, including protocol, reception of delegates, and medical services, must be well-prepared, along with strict measures to ensure food safety, stage security, and public order before, during, and after the event.
The UNESCO recognition ceremony for the "Lady Temple – Sam Mountain Festival" as a Representative Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity and the official opening of the festival will take place at 8:00 PM on March 19 at the Sam Mountain National Tourist Area (Nui Sam Ward, Chau Doc City), with an estimated duration of 120 minutes. The event will be broadcast live on Vietnam Television (VTV) and other national television channels.
On the same day, Chairman Ho Van Mung, accompanied by leaders of provincial departments and relevant units, conducted an on-site inspection of the ceremony venue at the Sam Mountain National Tourist Area in Chau Doc City.
