(AG Provincial E-Portal) - For 3 days (April 4th to 6th), the Department of Health organized a summer camp for children with special circumstances in the province to experience, play, learn skills... in Da Lat City (Lam Dong Province).
This is a meaningful gift for the children on the occasion of the Month of Action for Children in 2025. The children selected to participate in the summer camp all have special circumstances. They come from disadvantaged backgrounds - poor, near-poor, or disabled households and have worked hard to overcome challenges, striving in their studies to achieve good results this past school year.
The children were gathered from 11 districts, towns, cities and 2 units: An Giang School for Disabled Children, Provincial Social Protection Center. During 3 days, the team of staff in charge replaced the parents to take care of the children, recording every moment the children came to visit and play.
“The wind here is so cool, so nice, everything is beautiful, every scene is lovely…!”. Toan from Chau Thanh district kept exclaiming with delight as soon as he set foot in Da Lat flower garden. Not only this boy, but all the children in the group were participating in the summer camp for the first time, all of them were excited about what they saw and touched.
Besides discovering new things, children also participate in many useful, fun and healthy skill activities in a collective environment, enhancing cohesion and solidarity.
Mr. Dang Huy Chau, Deputy Head of the Population and Children Division (Department of Health), said that the unit has been preparing for this summer camp for the past 3 months. This is an experience for children that An Giang province has organized for many years, showing great concern from departments, branches, and teachers for children in special circumstances.
The trip was supported by favorable weather conditions, allowing most of the activities to take place. From different units, localities and circumstances, the children quickly formed groups, teams, they were very sociable to participate in each activity.
While playing and learning, the groups competed in creating toys and making children's-themed tear-and-stick pictures, expressing their pure, innocent and legitimate dreams.
During the trip, the children also visited and learned at the National Monument of Da Lat Children's Prison and Lam Dong Provincial Museum.
The children at An Giang School for Disabled Children received more attention from the staff in charge, who explained in sign language and guided them specifically in cases of difficulty in moving.
On the last night of the summer camp, the children ended their journey with a campfire Gala, continued to participate in exciting games, received gifts from the Organizing Committee and awarded prizes for previous games. The teachers sent their love and messages to the children to study hard in the new school year.
The children were moved and choked with emotion, sending their thanks to the Organizing Committee for bringing such a memorable experience. From this summer camp, the children made many new friends, learned useful skills, and felt the love for themselves. Their lives were not yet complete and happy, but here, they felt that they were not forgotten, there were many situations and lessons around for them to strive for.
For the children, this is not only a memory of this summer, but will also be a beautiful part of their childhood, because there are still many children in especially difficult circumstances who do not have the conditions and opportunities to attend summer camp./.
