Admire the legendary tank model 390 made of bamboo at Tra Su Melaleuca Forest, An Giang province on the occasion of April 30

(AG Provincial E-Portal) - On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the South Liberation and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), Tra Su Melaleuca Forest Tourist Site (Tinh Bien Town, An Giang Province) offers visitors a unique and emotional experience when admiring the model of tank 390 - a symbol of historical victory completely recreated with natural bamboo. The original of tank 390 is on display in Hanoi.

At about 10:45 a.m. on April 30, 1975, tank 390 of Troop 4, Battalion 1, Brigade 203 (Armored Corps) crashed through the main gate of the Independence Palace - marking the moment of collapse of the Saigon puppet regime, completely liberating the South, and unifying the country.

With the desire to bring that legendary symbol closer to the people and tourists, An Giang Tourism Joint Stock Company (under Sao Mai Group) has painstakingly built a model of tank 390 at Tra Su Melaleuca Forest Tourist Site from 180 natural bamboo trees.

The tank model has impressive dimensions: 4.8m long, 2.0m wide, 1.7m high and weighs up to 1.7 tons. Every detail is meticulously crafted, with high aesthetics. Bamboo material was chosen not only because of its environmental friendliness but also because of its symbolic meaning of solidarity, perseverance, resilience and indomitability of the Vietnamese people.
