(AG Provincial E-Portal) - On July 9, in Can Tho city, the Mekong Delta Tourism Association held a meeting to celebrate the 65th anniversary of Vietnam Tourism Day (July 9, 1960 - July 9, 2025) in conjunction with the 3rd meeting of typical tourist destinations in the Mekong Delta - 2025.


The event is not only an opportunity to review the development of Vietnam's tourism industry, but also to honor individuals, groups, and typical destinations that have actively contributed to improving the image, quality, and competitiveness of tourism in the Mekong Delta. According to the Mekong Delta Tourism Association, in the first 6 months of 2025, the total number of visitors to the Mekong Delta is estimated at over 35 million, an increase of 17.6% over the same period in 2024. Of which, there are over 2 million international visitors; an increase of 53.4% over the same period in 2024; domestic visitors are over 33 million, an increase of 16% over the same period in 2024. Total revenue from tourism activities is nearly 54,000 billion VND, an increase of 54% over the same period in 2024.
Speaking at the event, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Tourism Association, Ms. Cao Thi Ngoc Lan, suggested that the Mekong Delta Tourism Association focus on researching and mobilizing businesses and members to transform towards green and sustainable development, promote digital transformation, apply information technology in management, operation and organize tourism activities in a practical and effective manner. Strengthen activities to build new tourism products, tourism stimulus programs, pay attention to product quality, contribute to building a friendly image of the Mekong Delta, bringing many new experiences to domestic and international tourists.

On this occasion, the Mekong Delta Tourism Association awarded the Decision on Recognition, Re-recognition and the Signboard of Typical Tourist Destination of the Mekong Delta in 2025 to 29 units; awarded 30 Certificates of Merit to tourist destinations, collectives and individuals who have excellently completed their tasks and actively participated in local activities and the Mekong Delta Tourism Association in 2025.Accordingly, Nui Cam Tourist Area (Nui Cam Commune, An Giang Province) was awarded the Decision on Re-recognition and the Signboard of “Typical Tourist Destination of the Mekong Delta in 2025” by the Mekong Delta Tourism Association.
At the same time, the unit was also honored to receive a certificate of merit for excellently completing its tasks and actively participating in common activities of the locality and the Association in the past year. This is a clear demonstration of the constant efforts of Nui Cam Tourist Area in improving service quality, diversifying experiences for visitors, and contributing significantly to the picture of sustainable tourism development in the Southwest region./.
