My Hoa Hung Commune is an island commune located in the middle of the gentle Hau River, about 3km from the center of Long Xuyen city, with an area of over 2,100 hectares and a population of over 21,000. In recent years, with high political determination, drastic actions, and creative approaches, in 2020, My Hoa Hung Commune completed 19/19 criteria and was recognized by the PPC’s Chairman as a commune meeting advanced new rural standards. The process of building new rural areas has promoted the combined strength of the political system, creating a new look for the face of the countryside, affirming the role of rural areas in the country's leadership in current period. From there, it has consolidated and strengthened people's trust in the leadership of the Party and the administration of authorities at all levels.

Under the leadership and direction of the local Party Committee and political system, closely following the 4 requirements of the model new rural commune regulations, focusing on building a model new rural commune in the field of production organization, cadres and people in the commune have promoted the tradition of solidarity, unity, and raised the sense of responsibility, especially promoting the role of the people as the main subject in building a new rural area. Many good practices and creative models in the process of implementing the construction of a model new rural area have been built by cadres and people, creating a vibrant competitive atmosphere in the locality.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairwoman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Minh Thuy sent her congratulations to the leaders, officers, soldiers and all the people of My Hoa Hung commune. At the same time, she emphasized that the results of building a model new rural commune are a solid foundation for Uncle Ton's hometown to continue to develop comprehensively, towards building an ecological urban area associated with cultural and historical tourism.
