(AG Provincial E-Portal) - On the morning of April 14, a working delegation from the People's Committee of An Giang Province, led by Ho Van Mung, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, visited to survey and inspect the progress of works and projects in An Bien Commune, Tan Thanh Commune, and U Minh Thuong National Park.
Joining the delegation were Nguyen Thanh Phong, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, along with Vice Chairmen Le Trung Ho, Le Van Phuoc, Ngo Cong Thuc, Nguyen Thi Minh Thuy, and leaders of provincial departments and agencies.

The working delegation came to survey the implementation of the Road Connecting the Coastal Embankment with Thu Ba Bridge project in An Bien Commune. The project has a total length of 10.7 km, Grade III plain road standard, with a total investment of 497 billion VND. Currently, construction progress has reached over 86%, and compensation and support payments have been made to 203 households, with 1 household yet to receive payment due to a family land dispute.
Here, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung highly appreciated the construction unit’s project progress, and at the same time requested the local authorities to review all processes and procedures in accordance with regulations to promptly carry out compulsory land acquisition for the household that has not yet received compensation, in order to hand over the site to the construction unit without affecting the project schedule.
Surveying the Xeo Nhau Sluice project in Tan Thanh Commune, the project is currently on schedule as planned. However, site clearance is still pending for 8 households, and the construction unit is facing difficulties with the supply of stone materials for concrete pouring.
Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung requested that local authorities organize public outreach and mobilization so that households clearly understand and strictly comply with legal regulations. For cases of deliberate non-compliance, compulsory land acquisition must be carried out in accordance with the prescribed procedures. The construction unit should proactively seek sources of stone materials to ensure the project stays on schedule as planned.

On the same morning, the working delegation surveyed and held a working session with U Minh Thuong National Park on forest management, protection, fire prevention and firefighting, and forest development.

Speaking at the working session, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung emphasized that U Minh Thuong National Park is one of the province's precious assets. Therefore, ensuring absolute safety in all aspects for U Minh Thuong National Park is a particularly important and top-priority task, and encroachment on forest land must not be allowed under any circumstances.
At the same time, it is important to strengthen coordination with institutes, universities, and scientists to protect and develop the ecosystem at U Minh Thuong National Park. Forest fire prevention and firefighting must be proactive, avoiding being caught off guard in any situation, while also coordinating with functional forces and residents allocated land to ensure effective forest fire prevention and firefighting.

Alongside protection efforts, it is crucial to continue to step up publicity and promotion to leverage the value of U Minh Thuong National Park in socio-economic development, contributing to attracting investors and domestic and international tourists to visit.
Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee U Minh Thuong proposed promoting the development of the low-altitude economy and the application of science and technology, especially the use of UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles) in forest management, monitoring, protection, and fire prevention and firefighting, in connection with tourism development under a key model at the National Park, combined with transporting agricultural products for residents in the U Minh Thuong buffer zone. In the commune's development orientation, it must be linked with the National Park, and the implementation of investment calls for services and recreational activities should focus on building outside the park to conserve and promote the value of U Minh Thuong National Park.../.
