Concluding the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Tien Hai, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Secretary of the An Giang Provincial Party Committee, stated that in the first quarter of 2026, the province's economy continued to maintain a relatively high growth rate of 7.8%, the highest in the Mekong Delta region and ranking 25th out of 34 provinces and cities nationwide. He also noted that preparations for the APEC 2027 Summit were accelerated, which showed significant progress, especially in land clearance for the implementation of projects.

In the second quarter of 2026, to successfully accomplish the political tasks for 2026, the Provincial Party Secretary requested the decisive involvement of the entire political system, especially the heads of localities, agencies, and units, with the highest determination and effort.

It is imperative for party committees, authorities, leaders, and members to further heighten their responsibility and foster an innovative mindset. They must remain dynamic, creative, and bold in thought, decisive in action, and accountable for the public interest, proactively tackling challenges to achieve outstanding results."

An Giang Provincial Party Secretary, Mr. Nguyen Tien Hai, requested focused leadership and direction in the decisive implementation of tasks and solutions for economic growth; especially reviewing and adjusting the growth scenario immediately to ensure double-digit growth targets in 2026; and implementing all breakthrough projects of the term to create a basis for accelerated growth in the coming period.

Sectors and localities should review and transform the structure of agriculture, forestry, and fisheries towards efficient land use and in-depth development; enhance the value and quality of products, apply high technology, and operate on a large scale. Focus on effectively combating IUU fishing and ensuring the sustainable development of Viet Nam's fisheries sector.

Continue monitoring the supply and demand situation of goods, supporting businesses in connecting and selling; applying e-commerce in production and business activities. Effectively implement the plan to improve the business environment and enhance provincial competitiveness; in conjunction with promoting the development of general urban and rural plans, as a basis for implementing projects, attracting investment and supporting businesses in the province in 2026, especially non-budgetary projects.

At the same time, accelerate the disbursement of public investment capital, especially for key projects; regularly inspect and promptly resolve difficulties and obstacles related to land clearance and material supply shortages that affect progress.

Focus on leadership and decisively implement preparations for the APEC Summit; lead the organization of cultural, sports, information, and propaganda activities for holidays and anniversaries; effectively carry out national defense and security tasks, and implement programs, projects, and policies for socio-economic development in ethnic minority areas…

At the meeting, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council of An Giang, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nhan, reported on the situation and results of the political tasks implemented in the first quarter and the program for the second quarter of 2026 of the Provincial Party Committee.

Accordingly, in the first quarter of 2026, most key tasks were led and directed by the Provincial Party Committee and its Standing Committee, ensuring implementation according to plan. Highlights included: Completing the basic research, study, and concretization of the implementation of the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress and the Resolution of the 1st Provincial Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term; successfully leading the organization of the Lunar New Year (Tet) celebration in 2026; and successfully leading the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and the election of deputies to People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term.

Party building and the construction of the political system have seen positive changes. The direction and management of socio-economic development have been strengthened; tasks related to serving the APEC 2027 Summit, public investment, administrative reform, and digital transformation have been implemented.

The province's economy continued to develop, with a growth rate of 7.8%. Total social investment capital mobilized in the province is estimated at nearly 18,000 billion VND. The Provincial People's Committee has allocated 100% of public investment capital for 2026 to localities and units; as of March 31st, 2026, disbursement of public investment capital reached 6.23% of the plan assigned by the Prime Minister and 6.41% of the plan assigned by the Provincial People's Council.

The An Giang Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, has been finalized. Provincial budget revenue is estimated at 8,415 billion VND; budget expenditure is estimated at 8,691 billion VND.

At the meeting, departments, agencies and localities focused on discussing issues such as: the results of implementing political tasks in the first quarter of 2026; difficulties and obstacles regarding socio-economic development, low rice prices, rising agricultural input prices, social housing development, ensuring the supply of construction materials for key projects, and serving the APEC 2027 Summit…/.
