An Giang province holds a strategically important position in national defense and security, located in the southernmost part of the country. It's the homeland of the revered Uncle Ton and a land of history, rich in patriotic and revolutionary traditions. From the years of resistance against colonialism and imperialism to the wars protecting the southwest border and fulfilling international duties, generations of An Giang's sons and daughters have bravely fought, achieving glorious victories, contributing to the country's independence, freedom, and happiness for the people.

Carrying on this glorious tradition, the province's armed forces have continuously grown stronger and more mature, serving as a core force in building national defense, people's security, and border defense. They maintain political security, social order, and safety, protecting the country's southwest border and territorial sovereignty.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phong said that in recent years, An Giang has consistently met 100% of its conscription quota, with increasingly higher quality recruits. Many young people have developed and become exemplary cadres, party members, citizens, and entrepreneurs after completing their military service or serving in the People's Public Security, contributing positively to the province's development.
