The opening ceremony featured remarks by Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Minh Hoan and was attended by Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Phan Thi Thang, Vice President of the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance Cao Xuan Thu Van, along with national, regional, and international representatives.

Jointly organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, and the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance, OCOPEX hosts 250 booths showcasing the products of 150 businesses. The event aims to promote high-quality OCOP products, foster connections between OCOP producers and international businesses, support the export of OCOP products through global distribution networks, and contribute to the socio-economic development of localities.

For its debut at OCOPEX, the An Giang Trade and Investment Promotion Centre has curated a booth featuring prominent local products, including Tran Gia palm sugar and caramelized palm syrup, Nguyet My crispy rice crackers, Tien Anh almond cookies, Thai Minh Nguyen honeysuckle tea, Mai Tung ginseng tea, Kim Giang dried shrimp salt, and Tuong Vy palm wood chopsticks. These products have earned OCOP ratings of three to four stars from An Giang.

The array of natural specialties from the lush Mekong Delta has captured the interest of visitors from northern provinces and international attendees. Preliminary surveys from the event’s first day show high demand for dried shrimp salt and palm-based products.

Beyond the exhibition space, the event includes a forum titled “Connecting and Promoting OCOP Products in Modern International Distribution Channels,” a pilot launch of the "Agricultural Trade Exchange Platform," and various trade connection activities among businesses and distributors. This occasion provides distributors, enterprises, and state management agencies with an opportunity to explore and implement strategies for boosting OCOP product consumption domestically and abroad.

In recent years, the OCOP program has achieved notable success. While annual OCOP fairs have been organized at district or provincial levels nationwide, this new export-oriented OCOP exhibition marks a significant national and international scale event, anticipated to become an annual tradition beginning this year.
