An Giang Tourism ready for the Lunar New Year peak season

(AG Provincial E-Portal) -The Lunar New Year holiday of Binh Ngo 2026 will last up to nine consecutive days. This is a “golden period” for tourism businesses to prepare high-quality products and services to meet the increasingly diverse needs of travelers…

Island and coastal tourism attracts visitors during the Lunar New Year holiday

Lunar New Year tourism during Binh Ngo 2026 is forecast to boom, with many domestic and international destinations drawing strong interest. Travel companies are actively preparing high-quality tour products to meet this demand. According to tour operators, the Lunar New Year 2026 tour market is expected to grow by 10–20% compared to the same period last year. However, prices for both domestic and international tours are likely to rise slightly.

Tran Van Tam, Acting Director of Vietravel Joint Stock Company’s An Giang branch, said: “Although it is the peak season and input costs as well as airfares are somewhat higher than usual, the company still strives to offer reasonable and competitive prices for package tours. In addition, in line with the trend of independent travel, we are also offering various combo packages of hotel rooms plus ferry or air tickets at preferential prices,” Mr. Tam shared.

The show “Ocean Symphony” at Sunset town, Phu Quoc special zone attracts large numbers of visitors

Search data on travel platforms show that Phu Quoc continues to be an attractive destination for travelers seeking to “escape the crowds” to enjoy sunshine, blue seas and all-inclusive resorts, particularly suitable for families with young children and the elderly. Da Lat, Nha Trang and Da Nang are also among the most searched destinations, thanks to their majestic natural scenery, beautiful coastlines and diverse entertainment systems. Ha Tien, Kien Hai and Chau Doc are also destinations of interest for many people during the longest holiday of the year.

The prevailing travel trend during this year’s Lunar New Year is to make use of the holiday to reconnect with family, relax and explore domestic destinations, especially those easily accessible by road, familiar yet capable of meeting family resort needs. According to the reporter’s survey, An Giang residents still favor travel within the province during the Lunar New Year due to convenience in time and travel distance. Safety, convenience and the ability to control costs are also important factors for travelers.

Mr. Do Thanh Hai, a resident of Long Xuyen Ward, said his family is planning an independent “3 days, 4 nights” trip to Phu Quoc starting from the second day of the Lunar New Year. “I booked rooms and ferry tickets more than a week ago, learning from the experience of rooms being fully booked during the recent Western New Year holiday. Besides booking early, I also choose reputable providers to ensure a complete Lunar New Year holiday with my family,” Mr. Hai shared.

Meanwhile, Ms. Nguyen Thuy Hong, a resident of Tan Hiep Commune, said her family will also spend the Lunar New Year holiday exploring destinations within the province. Her family plans to spend “3 days, 4 nights” discovering An Giang with an itinerary designed and planned by themselves. “Our family will explore Chau Doc, Tinh Bien and Tri Ton, and visit famous pagodas in the area. After that, we will return to Rach Gia to go to Hon Son Island to enjoy island life, swim in the sea and savor fresh seafood,” Ms. Hong said.

Tourist sites decorate with festive displays to welcome visitors during the Lunar New Year

Anticipating the surge in tourist demand during the Lunar New Year, accommodation facilities and tourist sites are busy repairing, decorating festive displays and upgrading services to welcome visitors. Ms. Vu Thi Diem Thuy, Director of Hon Son Trading and Services Company Limited and owner of FlyUp Resort on Hon Son Island, Kien Hai Special Zone, said: “To serve visitors during the Lunar New Year, we have planned repairs and introduced new Lunar New Year-themed decorative displays to create a unique space for visitors to explore and experience. In particular, we will increase staff to provide the most attentive service possible.”

Director of the An Giang Department of Tourism Bui Quoc Thai said that, to improve service quality for residents and domestic and international visitors during the Binh Ngo 2026 Lunar New Year, the provincial tourism sector has directed management units of tourist areas and sites, as well as tourism service businesses across the province, to proactively diversify tourism products and improve service quality and customer service attitudes. This includes arranging staff to guide and assist tourists and promptly address their feedback and complaints. Special attention is given to landscape enhancement, ensuring security and order, traffic safety and environmental sanitation; strictly complying with regulations on price listing and transparency, and absolutely prohibiting price hikes, coercive pricing or overcharging tourists.

At the same time, efforts are being strengthened in state management and destination management; regular inspections and quality control of tourism services at accommodation facilities, tourist areas and sites, restaurants, entertainment venues, passenger transport services and tour guide operations are being carried out. The tourism hotline is also being effectively maintained to promptly receive and handle feedback from residents and visitors.

“The provincial tourism sector is coordinating with departments and localities to promote An Giang tourism more strongly on digital media platforms and social networks, introducing tourism products and services suited to visitors’ needs during the Lunar New Year. The goal of An Giang tourism is not only to meet expectations but also to deliver memorable experiences, so that visitors can feel the friendliness, safety and unique beauty of this land,” Mr. Bui Quoc Thai shared./.
