Celebrating the 158th Great Tam Hop Festival of Tu An Hieu Nghia Buddhism

(AG Provincial E-Portal) - On the afternoon of May 29, in Ba Chuc Town (Tri Ton District), Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Thuy, Vice Chairwoman of the An Giang Provincial People's Committee, led a delegation to congratulate the Central Executive Board of the Tu An Hieu Nghia Buddhist Association on the occasion of the 158th Great Tam Hop Festival (lunar calendar: May 5, 1867 – May 5, 2025).

During the meeting, Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Minh Thuy praised the active contributions of the Central Executive Board and followers of the Tu An Hieu Nghia Buddhist Association in patriotic emulation movements and social welfare efforts, which have positively contributed to local socio-economic development.

She expressed hope that the Central Executive Board, dignitaries, officials, and followers of the Tu An Hieu Nghia Buddhist Association will continue to uphold the philosophy of “living a good life and following the good path,” honoring the spirit of the "Four Gratitudes." She also encouraged continued unity and cooperation among religious groups in the province, working together with Party committees, government authorities, and local communities to build a prosperous, civilized An Giang.

On behalf of the Provincial Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of An Giang Province, Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Minh Thuy extended her best wishes to the Central Executive Board, religious dignitaries, officials, and all followers of Tu An Hieu Nghia Buddhism for a joyful, united, warm, and peaceful Great Tam Hop Festival.

The Great Tam Hop Festival commemorates the founding of Tu An Hieu Nghia Buddhism, the birth of its founder, Master Ngo Loi, and the day of his enlightenment. It is a sacred and significant event in the religious calendar, drawing large numbers of followers from within and beyond the province each year.
