An Giang claims numerous top prizes at the national “Students and Pupils with Startup Ideas” competition

(AG Provincial E-Portal) -On the afternoon of April 19, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Education and Training, in coordination with the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee, the Ministry of Science and Technology, and the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), organized the Closing Ceremony of the National Startup Festival for Students and Pupils and the Awards Ceremony of the 8th “Students and Pupils with Startup Ideas” Competition (SV.STARTUP VIII).

The 8th National Startup Festival for Students and Pupils — 2026 took place with great vitality from April 17 to 19. Within the framework of the festival, the Organizing Committee held in-depth advisory sessions and investment networking activities between student and pupil competition teams/projects and enterprises, investors, startup support organizations, and experts/advisors; the Finals of the 8th “Students and Pupils with Startup Ideas” Competition; a conference to disseminate, popularize, and launch the “Supporting Students and Pupils in Entrepreneurship for the 2026–2035 Period” Programme; and an entrepreneurship inspiration forum for students and pupils entitled “Starting Up from School for the 2026–2035 Period: Opportunities – Resources – Action.”

The 8th “Students and Pupils with Startup Ideas” Competition — 2026 was launched in December 2025. Within two months of its launch, the Organizing Committee received 880 startup projects from students and pupils at higher education institutions, vocational education institutions, and general education establishments, and selected 135 outstanding projects to participate in the Finals of the 8th “Students and Pupils with Startup Ideas” Competition.

An Giang Intermediate School No. 1 (under the An Giang Provincial Department of Education and Training unit) won 1 first prize, 1 second prize, and 1 third prize at the “Students and Pupils with Startup Ideas” competition

The competing projects spanned five fields: industry – manufacturing – artificial intelligence (AI) – STEM; agriculture – environment – energy; education – culture – tourism – finance; healthcare – health – lifestyle; and social-impact business.

As a result, the Organizing Committee awarded 15 first prizes, 30 second prizes, 55 third prizes, and 34 consolation prizes across all three competition blocks (the pupils’ block, the students’ block, and the vocational education block). Educational and training institutions in An Giang Province won a total of 1 first prize, 3 second prizes, and 4 third prizes at the competition.

The project “TACATOOTH Herbal Betel and Areca Toothpaste” from Kien Giang University won a third prize in the Students’ Block for Higher Education Institutions
 Kien Giang Vocational College won 1 second prize and 2 third prizes in the Students and Pupils’ Block for Vocational Education Institutions

Kien Giang Vocational College won 1 second prize and 2 third prizes in the Students and Pupils’ Block for Vocational Education Institutions. Specifically, the project “VEGAN PET VN.CO Vegan Food for Dogs” won a second prize; and two projects — “GREEN ORGANIC FARM: A Business Model for Pheasant-Based Products Linked with Rural Eco-Tourism Experience” and “Ground Roasted Squid Salt” — both won third prizes.

The An Giang Provincial Department of Education and Training unit had 4 prize-winning projects in the Students and Pupils’ Block for Vocational Education Institutions and the Pupils’ Block for Lower Secondary Schools, Upper Secondary Schools, and Continuing Education Centres.

The project “Giay Khom – Pineapple Paper” from An Giang Intermediate School No. 1 won first prize in the Students and Pupils’ Block for Vocational Education Institutions

In the Students and Pupils’ Block for Vocational Education Institutions, An Giang Intermediate School No. 1 won 3 prizes comprising 1 first prize, 1 second prize, and 1 third prize. Specifically, the project “Giay Khom – Pineapple Paper” won first prize; the project “TaHi Wind-Dried Buffalo Meat” won second prize; and the project “Green Foam” won third prize.

The project “Bat Phu Mam Xanh – Uom Mam Xanh Hoa” (Green Seedling Cover – Cultivating the Green Seedling) from Huynh Man Dat gifted High School (under the An Giang Provincial Department of Education and Training unit) won a second prize in the Pupils’ Block for Lower Secondary Schools, Upper Secondary Schools, and Continuing Education Centres

In the Pupils’ Block for Lower Secondary Schools, Upper Secondary Schools, and Continuing Education Centres, the project “Bat Phu Mam Xanh – Uom Mam Xanh Hoa” (Green Seedling Cover – Cultivating the Green Seedling) from Huynh Man Dat gifted High School won a second prize.
