The Prime Minister directed to speed up the progress of important national projects and works

(AG Provincial E-Portal) - On the afternoon of March 9, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Head of the Steering Committee, chaired the 16th meeting (online) of the State Steering Committee for important and key national projects and works to the transport sector.

Reporting at the meeting, Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung said that, up to now, An Giang has completed the tasks directed by the Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Ministers. The progress of implementing Component Project 1 of the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang Expressway Project, Phase 1, the section passing through An Giang, all 4 bid packages exceeded the approved progress by about 0.26%. Up to now, the province has completed the survey and exploration of 2 sand mines and is carrying out the procedures for registering the recovery of minerals with a volume of more than 3 million m3 (ensuring enough sand for Component Project 1).

Regarding the exploitation of Antraco stone quarry, the Provincial People's Committee has implemented the direction of Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha, extended the mineral exploitation license of the andesite stone quarry area for Antraco Joint Venture Company Limited and agreed to adjust the reserve of the stone quarry exploitation license, in order to mobilize the reserve of more than 2.9 million m3 of stone to supply the Expressway.

Concluding the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh welcomed the Ministry of Construction, central and local ministries and sectors, and investors for their efforts and proactive implementation in accordance with the Prime Minister's direction, overcoming difficulties to  speed up the construction progress of projects. However, there are still some difficulties and obstacles that need to be further focused on and resolved.

The Prime Minister emphasized that, in the spirit of "clear people, clear tasks, clear responsibilities, clear timelines, clear results," ministries, sectors, and local authorities—especially their leaders—must continue to uphold their responsibilities to accelerate the progress of implementing key projects. Efforts should be intensified to inspect, review, and resolve difficulties and obstacles, expediting the procedures for project investment preparation. The entire political system should be mobilized to carry out land clearance work, with a determined goal of completion by March 2025.

Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính also instructed investors to proactively ensure sufficient funding for projects and works. Ministries, sectors, and local authorities are to continue coordinating effectively in managing common construction materials. The allocation of the entire 2025 state budget investment plan must be urgently completed by March 15, 2025. Regarding construction materials, the provinces of Tien Giang, Ben Tre, An Giang, Kien Giang, and Dong Nai are to strictly adhere to the directives of the Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha, and the committed contents./.
