At the meeting, Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan, Permanent Vice Chairman of Chau Doc City People's Committee, reported on the draft plan to organize activities to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the completion of Vinh Te Canal and commemorate the 198th anniversary of the death of Ms. Chau Thi Te; the draft plan to organize the National Scientific Conference "Vinh Te Canal through 200 years of history (1824 - 2024)".
The National Scientific Conference is expected to take place on November 14th at the Chau Doc City Party Committee Hall, with an expected guest list of 350 delegates. The ceremony to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the completion of Vinh Te Canal and commemorate the 198th anniversary of Mrs. Chau Thi Te's death is expected to be broadcast live on the evening of November 14th at Vinh Dong Trade Center (Nui Sam Ward, Chau Doc City). The traditional ceremonies to commemorate the 198th anniversary of Mrs. Chau Thi Te's death will take place over 2 days (November 14th and 15th, 2024), including: Tien Worship Ceremony, Chanh Te Worship Ceremony held at the National Monument of Thoai Ngoc Hau Tomb (Nui Sam Ward, Chau Doc City).
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Ho Van Mung, Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee, emphasized that this was a provincial-level event of important significance, so it must be carefully prepared, solemnly organized, ensuring compliance with the regulations of the Party and the State with a suitable, practical, safe and economical scale and form. At the same time, he requested the Provincial People's Committee to preside over and coordinate with Chau Doc city and related units to urgently review and complete the contents in order to submit to the Standing Committee of Provincial Party Committee for direction.
For the national scientific conference "Vinh Te Canal through 200 years of history (1824 - 2024)", the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee proposed to invite experts to participate in writing articles for the conference to improve the quality of content and be worthy of a national conference. For the program to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the completion of Vinh Te Canal (1824 - 2024) and commemorate the 198th anniversary of the death of Mrs. Chau Thi Te (1826 - 2024), there should be full content of dramatization; speeches by leaders; video clips...
