(AG Provincial E-Portal) - On the afternoon of March 4, Mr. Ho Van Mung, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Chairman of the People's Committee of An Giang Province, presided over a meeting to prepare for the ceremony to receive UNESCO's certificate recognizing the "Lady Temple – Sam Mountain Festival" as a Representative Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
The meeting was attended by Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Huong, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of An Giang Province, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission; Mr. Lam Quang Thi, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Secretary of the Chau Doc City Party Committee; Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Thuy, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of An Giang Province; along with leaders from various departments and agencies, as well as representatives from Chau Doc City.
During the meeting, leaders of departments and the People's Committee of Chau Doc City reported on the progress of their assigned tasks. They also discussed and provided input on several related matters, including the draft plan for organizing the ceremony, the program and scenario (stage performance, ceremonial rites, and artistic performances), the draft plan and scenario for the incense-offering ceremony at the Thoai Ngoc Hau Mausoleum and the Lady Temple-Sam Mountain, as well as preparations for the press conference…
Concluding the meeting, Chairman Ho Van Mung requested that subcommittees coordinate with relevant departments, agencies, and the People's Committee of Chau Doc City to review their assigned tasks and promptly complete them according to their respective functions and responsibilities. He emphasized the importance of thorough coordination to ensure the ceremony is conducted with dignity and meticulous preparation. The ceremony to receive UNESCO’s certificate recognizing the "Lady Temple – Sam Mountain Festival" as a Representative Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, along with the official opening of the festival, is scheduled to take place at 8:00 PM on March 19 at the National Tourist Site of Sam Mountain (Sam Mountain Ward, Chau Doc City), with an estimated duration of 120 minutes. The event will be broadcast live on Vietnam Television (VTV) and various provincial television stations across the country.
The program will consist of three parts: Part I: The ceremony to receive UNESCO’s certificate; Part II: The official opening of the Lady Temple – Sam Mountain Festival; Part III: A special artistic performance.
