(AG Provincial E-Portal) - On the morning of November 01, Sun PhuQuoc Airways of Sun Group officially launched its first commercial flight to Phu Quoc.

At exactly 7:15 a.m., the first commercial flight of Sun PhuQuoc Airways (SPA), numbered 9G1203, departed from Noi Bai Airport, carrying 220 passengers to Pearl Island Phu Quoc on an Airbus A321.
The following flights, 9G1969 (08:50 – 09:50) from Ho Chi Minh City and 9G2969 (08:35 – 10:20) from Da Nang, also took off shortly after, all heading toward Phu Quoc.
Among them, the Da Nang – Phu Quoc flight was a special inaugural flight. This route is expected to be operated regularly starting from March 2026.
Meanwhile, three domestic routes – Phu Quoc – Hanoi, Phu Quoc – Ho Chi Minh City, and Hanoi – Ho Chi Minh City – were officially launched for regular operation by Sun PhuQuoc Airways from November 01.
“Today is an extremely special day for Sun Group and Sun PhuQuoc Airways. This is not only the beginning of a new airline, but also the start of a new approach where aviation and tourism go hand in hand to bring unique experiences,” said Nguyen Manh Quan, General Director of Sun PhuQuoc Airways.

On the first day of operation, in addition to a boarding pass stamped “first flight,” each passenger seat was prepared with a souvenir set featuring the Sun symbol of Sun PhuQuoc Airways, specially designed as a welcome and token of gratitude to the first passengers on this memorable milestone. Along with that, each passenger was also served a pastry from Eric Kayser – the famous French bakery brand with nearly three decades of global presence.

On this flight, melodies performed “above the clouds” created a relaxing and emotional atmosphere, leaving passengers with beautiful impressions.
In the context that Phu Quoc has just become a special zone under An Giang Province and has been chosen as the host of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Forum 2027 – with about 10,000 to 12,000 delegates, including senior leaders of 21 member economies such as the United States, Russia, China, Japan, and others – the demand for air connectivity will grow strongly. The presence of an airline with a modern fleet, a well-planned and distinctive development strategy also promises to contribute to improving transport infrastructure and tourism services, bringing practical benefits to the community.
