Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long highly appreciated and commended the achievements of the staff, civil servants and students of Kien Giang University over more than 11 years of development and growth.
Accordingly, each year Kien Giang University trains 2 more majors, bringing the total number of current training majors to 25. The school trains in an applied direction with a focus on deep-dive in marine economics and marine logistics, while opening many majors that the labor market needs in the fields of information technology, engineering, etc.
Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long assessed this as the right direction; training results are clear with relatively positive annual enrollment numbers, the rate of students having jobs after graduation is over 75%...
In the coming time, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long suggested that Kien Giang University participate in the process of institutionalizing Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW and organize its implementation, promoting the spirit of creativity, daring to think and daring to do for strong and sustainable development.

Along with training development, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long requested Kien Giang University to focus on promoting scientific research and innovation, to have products, and to carry out joint ventures and partnerships with businesses to commercialize products;
Continue to implement the school's key points and priorities based on resolutions; Encourage the school to open new training majors to serve the locality and foreign affairs; participate in the training process of majors that are in great shortage of human resources according to the projects of the Ministry of Education and Training and the State on high technology such as semiconductors, industry, railway engineering, transportation, etc.

In the context of university autonomy, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long suggested that Kien Giang University should not "race" to increase quantity but should focus on improving the quality of human resource training and diversifying sources of funding;
Implementing a university governance model without organizing a school council and arranging for the Party Secretary to be the head of the university, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long suggested promoting the spirit of solidarity for the common development of the school./.
