(AG Provincial E-Portal) - On the morning of November 9, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of Vinh Gia Boarding Primary and Secondary School project in Vinh Gia commune, An Giang province.




Also attending the ceremony were Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of An Giang Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Tien Hai; Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of An Giang Provincial People’s Committee Ho Van Mung; Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Van Phuc; representatives of leaders from central and local ministries and agencies, together with teachers and students of the school.
Vinh Gia Boarding Primary and Secondary School was formed on the basis of merging Luong An B Primary School and Luong An Tra Secondary School.
In addition to Vinh Gia Boarding Primary and Secondary School, An Giang province also simultaneously started construction of two other projects: Giang Thanh Semi-boarding and Boarding Primary and Secondary School, and Khanh An Boarding Primary and Secondary School.
An Giang province has 14 border communes and wards, including 9 communes Giang Thanh, Vinh Gia, Khanh Binh, Nhon Hoi, Phu Huu, An Phu, Ba Chuc, Vinh Xuong, Vinh Dieu and 5 wards Ha Tien, Chau Doc, Vinh Te, Tinh Bien, Thoi Son. The province was assigned to build 3 schools out of a total of 100 schools nationwide in phase 1, with a total investment of more than VND 388 billion, expected to be completed and put into use in August 2026.
Provincial leaders emphasized that investing in the construction of boarding primary and secondary schools in border communes is a major, comprehensive, and humanitarian policy of the Party and the State for education in border areas, aiming to improve intellectual standards, develop human resources, and strengthen national defense and security. This creates stable and long-term learning conditions for children in border areas, especially ethnic minority students, contributing to strengthening national defense, security, and the great unity of the entire people. 

The school is built on an area of 4.29 hectares, with an investment scale of 45 classes, meeting the learning needs of 1,500 students (about 600 boarding students); along with related facilities serving teaching needs such as an outdoor stage, restrooms, guardhouse, gates and fences, canteen, multifunctional house, dormitory… with a total investment of more than VND 186 billion, expected to be completed in June 2026.
The construction of boarding schools creates favorable and best learning conditions for children in border areas, especially ethnic minority students and students in difficult areas, enabling them to access high-quality education, thereby improving intellectual standards and the quality of human resources for the border region.






On this occasion, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son and leaders of An Giang province presented gifts to 20 students and 10 teachers in difficult circumstances of Vinh Gia Boarding Primary and Secondary School; at the same time, planted commemorative trees in the school campus.
