(AG Provincial E-Portal) - On the evening of October 18, at Golden City Urban Area, Long Xuyen Ward, the An Giang Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion held the opening ceremony of the Southern Folk Cake Festival – An Giang, in conjunction with the 2nd Tourism and Trade Promotion Fair – OCOP Products 2025, themed “Huong sac An Giang”.
Attending the opening ceremony were Nguyen Thanh Phong – Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of An Giang Provincial People’s Committee; Hor DaReth – Commercial Attaché of Cambodia in Ho Chi Minh City; along with leaders of provincial departments and Long Xuyen Ward.
The festival takes place from October 18 to 26, featuring more than 300 booths from provinces and cities across the country and from An Giang province. In addition to the main highlight – the folk cake performance and exhibition space – the festival also showcases tourism and cuisine from various localities.
The event also includes areas introducing export products, OCOP products, local specialties, and general commercial goods to consumers, offering a wide variety of items in both type and quality.
During the festival, many entertainment, experiential, and product sampling activities are organized by the organizers and businesses, creating opportunities for enterprises to meet, connect, cooperate in business, and expand their markets.
The event aims to honor, preserve, and promote the culinary cultural values of the Southern region through its signature folk cakes; to introduce and promote the image of An Giang’s people, culture, and tourism; and to stimulate tourism demand and expand markets for local specialty and OCOP products.
Through this, the festival creates a space for exchange and cooperation among artisans, businesses, and localities, promoting trade, tourism, and investment, marking an important milestone in the socio-economic development of the region.
