Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Director of the Department of Home Affairs Truong Long Ho said that gender equality is one of the fundamental values of progress and social justice, and is the driving force for sustainable socio-economic development. In recent years, with the close attention and direction of the Central Government and the efforts of all levels and sectors, An Giang province has achieved many encouraging results in the work of gender equality and for the advancement of women.

Women in An Giang today are increasingly asserting their role and position in many fields: from economic development, state management, education, healthcare to entrepreneurship and digital transformation. Many exemplary women have made important contributions to the development of their homeland An Giang - a heroic, dynamic and innovative land.

However, in addition to the achievements, there are still many difficulties and challenges to face. Gender-based violence still occurs in some places, especially in cyberspace - where the boundary between reality and virtuality is sometimes very fragile. Women and girls are vulnerable to violence, harassment, fraud, or privacy violations on digital platforms. This is not only a social issue, but also a challenge of the times.

Deputy Director of the Department of Home Affairs Truong Long Ho speaks at the launching ceremony

According to Deputy Director of the Department of Home Affairs Truong Long Ho, digital transformation is not only an opportunity for development, but also a requirement for ensuring gender equality and safety. Therefore, every agency, every organization, every family and every individual needs to join hands to strengthen communication and education on gender equality, especially in the online environment; improve digital capacity for women and girls, helping them confidently access and use technology safely and effectively; build a healthy, safe, humane online environment, say no to violence, discrimination and gender prejudice; each person is a "companion", an active "protector" for women and children - both in real life and in the digital space.

The month of action for gender equality is not only a propaganda activity, but also a widespread campaign, spreading the spirit of responsibility and love in the community.

Deputy Director of the Department of Home Affairs Truong Long Ho called on all levels and sectors to synchronously deploy communication, education and support activities, especially the application of digital technology in preventing and responding to gender-based violence. Organizations, businesses and individuals should actively join hands, create more job opportunities, train digital skills, and build a safe and friendly working environment for women. Each family and each person should become the "nucleus of gender equality", starting with the smallest actions in daily life.

“We believe that with the spirit of solidarity, responsibility and compassion, we will together build An Giang into a safe, equal and civilized locality - where all women and girls are respected, loved and fully developed” - Deputy Director of the Department of Home Affairs Truong Long Ho said.
