At the meeting, the leaders of An Giang province and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment focused on clarifying the reasons for the delay in extending the mining license for the Nui Dai stone quarry. Consequently, they proposed specific solutions according to current legal regulations to resume the quarry's operations, ensuring timely supply for key national transportation projects.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha emphasized the critical importance of ensuring an adequate supply of construction materials for key transportation projects in the Southern region as well as nationwide to be completed on schedule. He acknowledged and commended the efforts of various ministries, local authorities, investors, and contractors for their significant efforts. However, he noted that the supply of construction materials remains challenging, with the current prominent issue being that many projects are experiencing shortages of sand and stone.

The Deputy Prime Minister requested An Giang province to urgently complete the extension of the mining license for the Nui Dai stone quarry for Antraco Joint Venture Co., Ltd., in accordance with the new legal regulations on mineral exploitation. Particularly, during the investigation, exploration, and supplementary assessment of reserves, the enterprise must follow the correct procedures to avoid waste and loss of mineral resources; and must take responsibility for supplementing plans to ensure mining equipment and techniques, worker safety, and environmental protection...

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha emphasized that the sand and stone quarries in An Giang province must prioritize national key transportation projects. Investors and construction contractors must report and take responsibility for the data and demand for construction materials according to the monthly and quarterly progress, to promptly address any issues and ensure that the key transportation projects are completed on schedule with the best quality./.
