(AG Provincial E-Portal) - On the morning of April 3rd, at Can Dang Commune, the Steering Committee for the Removal of Temporary and Dilapidated Houses in Chau Thanh District, in collaboration with the Central Executive Board of the Hoa Hao Buddhist Church, held the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of new homes to replace temporary and dilapidated houses in the district.

Attendees included Mr. Bui Van Tang, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province; Mr. Huynh Thanh Cu, Deputy Director of the Department of Ethnic Affairs and Religions; Ms. Le Bich Phuong, District Party Secretary and Head of the Steering Committee for the Removal of Temporary and Dilapidated Houses; Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Lan, Deputy District Party Secretary and Chairwoman of the District People's Committee; Mr. Phan Thanh Phuong, member of the District Party Standing Committee and Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the district; and Mr. Nguyen Tan Dat, Head of the Central Executive Board of the Hoa Hao Buddhist church.
At the groundbreaking ceremony, the Central Executive Board of the Hoa Hao Buddhist Church presented a symbolic check of 385 million VND, while the Steering Committee for the Removal of Temporary and Dilapidated Houses in Chau Thanh District presented a symbolic check of 275 million VND to the local community to build 11 new houses for poor households in Can Dang Commune, with each house receiving 60 million VND in support. The houses built under this program will ensure the "three hard" standards: solid foundation, solid framework and walls, and solid roofing, ensuring that residents will have better, more durable homes and the opportunity to develop economically and rise out of poverty.
Immediately after the ceremony, the Steering Committee for the Removal of Temporary and Dilapidated Houses in Chau Thanh District began construction of a new home for Mr. Mai Van Cuong’s family in Can Thanh Hamlet, a poor household facing housing difficulties, which received over 60 million VND to build a solid new house.
The support for replacing temporary and dilapidated houses not only provides material assistance but also reflects a profound humanitarian spirit, demonstrating the responsibility of the entire political system and the solidarity of society. Furthermore, it provides an opportunity to leverage the collective strength of social resources to improve housing conditions for the people.
On this occasion, the Central Executive Board of the Hoa Hao Buddhist Church donated 11 gift packages, including essential goods, to the families receiving support for house construction.
