(AG Provincial E-Portal) - On the morning of February 6th, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Van Phuoc chaired a working session with eight communes and wards: Ha Tien, To Chau, Tien Hai, Giang Thanh, Vinh Dieu, Tan Hoi, Tan Hiep, and Thanh Dong, to discuss the implementation of the 2026 work program.

Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Le Van Phuoc, on behalf of the Standing Committee of An Giang Provincial People's Committee, acknowledged and commended the efforts of the communes and wards in overcoming difficulties in 2025, achieving and exceeding the socio-economic targets set in the resolution.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Van Phuoc emphasized that 2026 is the first year of implementing the Resolution of the 14th National Congress of the Party and the Resolution of the 1st Congress of the An Giang Provincial Party Committee, with many high targets and tasks set forth, requiring high efforts and determination from the entire political system.
Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of An Giang province, Le Van Phuoc, requested that communes and wards organize well the work of visiting and caring for the people during Tet, especially poor and near-poor households and families entitled to preferential policies; organize a joyful, warm, and economical Tet holiday and ensure that "everyone has a Tet holiday," leaving no one behind.
Local authorities should thoroughly review and promptly implement the growth plans and scenarios that have been developed in accordance with the "6 clear principles"; strengthen regular inspection and supervision to promptly address any difficulties and obstacles that arise.
There should be thoroughly preparations for the content according to the plan for organizing the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and deputies to the People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term; Simultaneously, effectively performing the military recruitment, organizing visits and encourage young people to enlist, ensuring both targets and quality are met. Localities, especially border wards and communes, should strengthen coordination with police, military, and border guard forces to ensure security and order, and border security during the election period; Intensifying coordination, propaganda, and inspection of fishing vessels, combined with raising awareness about combating illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing.
According to the report from the An Giang Provincial Department of Finance, the socio-economic situation in communes and wards in January showed an increase compared to the same period last year; propaganda activities for the 14th Party Congress were given attention and guidance. Administrative reform work in communes and wards continued to be prioritized. National defense, security, and public order in the area were strictly maintained and ensured.
During the meeting, the communes and wards proposed the Provincial People's Committee and relevant departments and agencies to resolve and address a number of difficulties and obstacles related to infrastructure investment, staffing allocation, funding for office construction, tourism development, healthcare, education, and transportation, in order to promote socio-economic development in the coming period.
