(AG Provincial E-Portal) - On the afternoon of May 15, the People's Committee of An Giang Province convened a special session to seek consensus among its members on matters under the authority of the provincial government and the Party Committee of the Provincial People’s Committee. Mr. Ho Van Mung, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People’s Committee, chaired the meeting. Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Le Van Phuoc and leaders from various departments and sectors also attended.
During the session, representatives of provincial departments sequentially presented draft resolutions including: the resolution to repeal Resolution No. 24/2023/NQ-HDND of the Provincial People’s Council on the land price adjustment coefficient for An Giang in 2024; the resolution on decentralizing authority for procurement, leasing, use, handling, and exploitation of public assets under the provincial management; the resolution on procurement authority for goods, services, and equipment in the fields of science and technology, as well as IT applications funded by the provincial budget; and the resolution on health insurance support levels for specific groups in the province.
Other topics discussed included: a proposal to authorize the Sam Mountain National Tourist Area Management Board to oversee and exploit the Cam Mountain tourism site; a motion to temporarily suspend the adjustment plan for An Giang's urban development program to 2030 with a vision to 2050 due to ongoing administrative restructuring; a proposal to amend the provincial housing development plan for both annual and 5-year periods (2021–2025); the provision of additional essential teaching equipment for implementation of the 2018 general education curriculum; and the approval of an amended investment policy for infrastructure expansion at the An Giang Provincial Martyrs’ Cemetery. After thorough discussion, representatives from the People's Committee, departments, and localities contributed feedback and reached consensus on the proposed documents.
In his closing statements for each agenda item, Chairman Ho Van Mung requested that all assigned departments and agencies take full responsibility for drafting, reviewing, and incorporating all contributions from the meeting. He urged them to swiftly revise and finalize the documents and submit them to the Provincial People’s Committee for timely issuance in accordance with regulations. These efforts, he emphasized, are vital to supporting the province in fulfilling its socio-economic development tasks in the coming period.
