(AG Provincial E-Portal) - On the afternoon of December 23, Director of the An Giang Province Sports Training, Coaching and Competition Center Dang Anh Kiet said: at the end of the 2024 World Pencak Silat Championship, the Pencak Silat An Giang fighters contributed to the overall achievements of the Vietnam Pencak Silat team, with 2 gold medals and 1 silver medal.
Specifically, Tran Thi Kim Loan (women's 45kg weight class) and Nguyen Minh Triet (men's 65kg weight class) won gold medals in the championship; Nguyen Ngoc Nhu Y (women's 43kg weight class) won silver medals in the youth category.
The 2024 World Pencak Silat Championships attract nearly 1,000 athletes and coaches from 55 countries. Athletes compete in the following categories: Boxing, Performance and Combat, in the youth and championship age groups. This is an important, leading tournament for Pencak Silat, attracting a large number of athletes from all over the world to compete. Ending the 2024 World Pencak Silat Championship, held in the UAE, the Vietnamese Pencak Silat team won 18 gold medals, 5 silver medals and 5 bronze medals. Of which, 10 gold medals, 3 silver medals, 3 bronze medals in the championship event and 8 gold medals, 2 silver medals, 2 bronze medals in the events for the youth championship.
