(AG Provincial E-Portal) - The XX Congress was held on the morning of October 10 by the Provincial Farmers' Association to recognize exceptional farmers in production and business in An Giang province from 2022 to 2024. The event was attended by 304 delegates, who represented over 8,000 exceptional farmer households in production and business at the provincial level.

During the opening of the Congress, Mr. Le Phuoc Dung, Chairman of the Farmers' Association of An Giang Province, stated, "The congress to commend farmers for good production and business is a forum for delegates to exchange, share, and learn good practices, valuable experiences, and good models in localities." In order to enhance the competitiveness of agricultural products, increase the efficiency of production and business, and expand the scale, the link of cooperation between good production and business households must be strengthened during the period of international economic integration. At the same time, the outcomes will be assessed, and insights and experiences will be extracted to advance the movement in the future. The congress is also an opportunity to recognize and reward advanced examples, which will serve to motivate and inspire good farmers and advance the movement.
Mr. Ho Van Huong, Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People's Committee, proposed during the Congress that the movement of farmers who emulate positive production and business practices will expand and flourish, thereby aiding in the successful execution of the Resolution of the XI Provincial Party Congress, term 2020-2025. Farmers' associations at all levels must enhance propaganda, encouragement, and reward in order to further encourage the movement of farmers who emulate excellent production and business practices. This will enable an increasing number of farmers to earn the title of "good production and business farmers." On the basis of the resolutions of the Central Committee, the Provincial Party Committee, the province's socio-economic development strategies and plans, Party committees and authorities at all levels, especially the agricultural sector, farmers' associations at all levels need to suggest, orient and place orders for farmers and enterprises to participate in production development, contributing to the socio-economic development of the province, promoting the development of the agricultural sector and the movement of farmers to emulate good production and business in the province.
The policies of the Party and State regarding agriculture, farmers, and rural areas, particularly those regarding capital and the application of science and technology, must be effectively implemented by party committees, authorities, departments, and departments at all levels. Additionally, assistance must be provided to overcome and remove obstacles and challenges in the production and business processes. Farmers' Associations at all levels in the province are continuously developing their contents and operational methods, such as the movement of farmers to emulate good production and business practices in conjunction with the movement to build a new countryside and reduce poverty.
Mr. Ho Van Huong, Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People's Committee, aspires for farmers in An Giang province to continue to engage in the association's work, production, and business, as well as to expand their awareness and perspective. Particularly, concentrate on the development of the "five new farmers" model: new thinking, new awareness, new knowledge, new cultural life, and new determination. The farmers' association is consistently supported, accompanied, and cared for by provincial leaders, who also foster the movement of farmers to emulate good production and business development in a broader and deeper sense.
The Medal "For the Vietnamese peasant class" was bestowed upon typical farmers by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union on this occasion. In the 2022-2024 period, the An Giang Provincial People's Committee and the An Giang Provincial Farmers' Association awarded certificates of merit to farmers who demonstrated exceptional accomplishments in the farmer movement, with the intention of emulating successful production and business practices.
