(AG Provincial E-Portal) - On the morning of December 02, the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism coordinated with An Giang Department of Tourism to organize a workshop on "Developing sustainable community tourism in ethnic minority and mountainous areas", with the participation of more than 100 delegates representing tourism businesses and ethnic minorities in the province.
At the workshop, delegates were updated with information on community tourism development in An Giang; introduced the community tourism model, instructed households on some skills and equipped them with some basic knowledge on community tourism activities; oriented on preserving and exploiting traditional architecture in tourism development; built a chain of tourism products from heritage and cultural life in developing community tourism in the locality.
In addition, they discussed and shared experiences on advantages and disadvantages of developing community tourism; Thereby, they have been raising awareness of sustainable community tourism development for ethnic minorities and mountainous areas; guiding community tourism models associated with improving people's lives and socio-economic development. At the same time, proposing appropriate solutions for sustainable community tourism development in the coming period./.
