On the morning of April 15, Chau Thanh District People's Committee held a ceremony to announce the Decision of the Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee recognizing Tan Phu commune as meeting the standards of a new rural commune in 2024. Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of An Giang Province Ha Minh Trang; Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang Province Ho Thanh Binh; Permanent Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of Chau Thanh District People's Council Tu Thanh Khiet and leaders of departments, branches of the province and Chau Thanh district attended.
Identifying the implementation of the National Target Program on New Rural Construction as the driving force for local socio-economic development, the Party Committee and the government of Tan Phu commune have actively deployed many practical and effective contents and solutions. The commune focuses on innovating propaganda work, raising people's awareness of the purpose, role and importance of new rural construction, especially clearly defining the role of the people in new rural construction.
With the efforts and determination of the entire political system, the Party Committee, government and people of Tan Phu commune are happy and excited when the commune meets the standards of a new-style rural commune according to Decision 1260/QD-UBND, dated June 22, 2022 of the Provincial People's Committee. Thereby, the appearance of the commune has changed significantly, with an increasingly spacious infrastructure system, people's lives have improved... Up to now, the average income per capita in the commune has increased from 28.2 million VND/person/year in 2015 to more than 65 million VND/person/year in 2024; the poverty rate has decreased to 1.21% (excluding 7 households of social protection)...
In the coming time, Tan Phu commune will continue to enhance the role of the political system in building new rural areas, determined to maintain and improve the quality of criteria and targets, creating a solid foundation for the development of the homeland. In particular, promoting propaganda so that people can proactively and actively participate in building new rural areas. Integrating resources into building new rural areas; focusing on developing the rural economy, promoting restructuring of agricultural production, and building rural socio-economic infrastructure.
On this occasion, the People's Committee of An Giang province and Chau Thanh district awarded many Certificates of Merit to collectives and individuals who have made many contributions to building Tan Phu commune to meet the standards of a new rural commune and actively participated in social and charitable activities./.
