(AG Provincial E-Portal) - On November 01, Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung chaired the conference to review the socio-economic situation in October and the first ten months, the directions and tasks for the last 02 months of 2024.
Attending the conference were Vice Chairwoman of An Giang Provincial People's Council Dinh Thi Viet Huynh; Vice Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Le Van Phuoc, Vice Chairwoman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Minh Thuy; Vice Chairman of Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of An Giang Province Bui Van Tang; representatives of leaders of provincial departments, branches and sectors.
According to the report of the Provincial People's Committee, the socio-economic situation of the province in the first 10 months of 2024 continued to achieve many positive results, growing compared to the same period in 2023 in many areas, contributing to the completion of the socio-economic goals of 2024. The main economic indicators all maintained growth compared to the same period, such as: The industrial production index of the whole province in the first 10 months is estimated to increase by 10.02% over the same period. The estimated cumulative revenue from wholesale and retail of goods and services in the first 10 months is estimated at VND 191,975.8 billion (increased 16.37% over the same period). The cumulative export turnover of goods in the first 10 months is estimated at USD 1,219.8 million, increased 6.51% over the same period. The total revenue from tourism activities reached VND 9,900 billion and obtained 160% of the yearly plan. Budget revenue reached VND 6,870 billion, reaching 95.46% of the estimate assigned by the Provincial People's Council and equal to 108.91% over the same period.
Social security work continues to receive attention, has been implemented promptly, and ensures the right subjects and the right regime. The province successfully organized the Ba Chua Xu Mountain Sam Festival in 2024 and celebrated the 10th anniversary of Ba Chua Xu Mountain Sam Festival being included in the list of National Intangible Cultural Heritage (2014 - 2024). People's health care is enhanced. The investment promotion continues to be carried out; Implementation of regulations on anti-corruption, thrift, and anti-waste; national defense and security is strictly maintained.
At the Conference, representatives of leaders of departments, branches and localities also focused on discussing to clarify some difficulties and problems, and proposed solutions that need to be focused on implementing in the remaining 2 months of the year to successfully carry out the socio-economic development tasks of the province in 2024.
Concluding the conference, Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung acknowledged the efforts of all levels and sectors that contribute to achieving encouraging results. In order to successfully implement the targets and tasks of the fourth quarter and complete the growth target set for 2024, comrade Ho Van Mung requested all levels, sectors and localities to change their working style and methods; Strengthen discipline and administrative discipline, overcome the situation of avoiding and shirking responsibility.
