In the first 9 months of 2024, the socio-economic situation of An Giang province has many positive and prosperous changes. In particular, the industrial - construction and service sectors have a higher growth rate than the same period last year. The economic growth rate (GRDP) in the first 9 months is estimated to increase by 6.80%, (the number of the same period last year was 6.41%). Of which, the agriculture, forestry and fishery sector increased by 3.10%; the industrial and construction sector increased by 12.0%; the service sector increased by 8.25%; product taxes minus product subsidies increased by 3.08%.
Many cultural, artistic and entertainment activities were widely organized in localities across the province, creating a joyful and exciting atmosphere among the people. Social security support policies for the subjects were implemented promptly and fully. Many economic, cultural, political and social events were organized to serve the material and spiritual life of the people. The supply of construction materials for key projects in the province is still difficult, slowing down the progress of project implementation. Speaking at the Conference, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung suggested: From now until the end of 2024, the provincial departments, branches, sectors, People's Committees of districts, towns and cities shall perform well the tasks of each sector and each locality; focus on clarifying difficulties, obstacles and limitations in the process of implementing tasks; review goals, targets and tasks to set out specific tasks, solutions and implementation roadmaps for each sector and locality, strive to achieve the highest results, contributing to the successful implementation of the socio-economic development tasks in 2024 and the entire term 2020 - 2025. At the same time, make efforts to speed up the disbursement progress of the public investment capital plan, focusing on key national and provincial projects, especially the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang Expressway Project through An Giang province.
