Specifically, the delegation surveyed the following areas: My Thoi Port, An Giang Cement Factory and An Giang Centrifugal Concrete Port; Ong Ho Islet (My Hoa Hung Commune, Long Xuyen City); sand mining areas, Gavi Port (Tan Trung Commune, Phu Tan District); surveyed Tien River route through Tan Chau Town and Vinh Hoan Seeds Company (Vinh Hoan Group, Tan Chau Town).
Through the survey, Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung said: An Giang has many advantages in river transport and tourism, especially the section of An Giang river connecting with the Kingdom of Cambodia. Therefore, in the coming time, the province will focus on exploiting the potential and advantages of river transport and tourism; direct the planning of inland waterway ports, in connecting with road traffic, to serve socio-economic development and people's lives. In the river areas passing from Long Xuyen city to Tan Chau town, Chau Doc city, the province will re-plan and at the same time promote the activities of inland waterway ports to serve socio-economic development.
In addition, with many advantages of river tourism, beautiful landscapes on both sides, they are favorable environments for developing eco-tourism. The province will focus on directing and coordinating the formation of tours and river tourism routes connecting localities in the province; connecting Long Xuyen city with districts, towns, cities and connecting An Giang province with Dong Thap province, An Giang with Cambodia.
In order to form tours, routes, and develop river tourism, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee suggested that localities and units must build diverse tourism products to learn about the life, culture, and typical cuisine of An Giang; And take the spiritual cultural points in Chau Doc city and Ba Chua Xu Temple in Sam Mountain as tourist highlights in the itinerary of these tours and routes./.
