(AG Provincial E-Portal) - On the afternoon of November 11, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of An Giang Provincial Party Committee Le Hong Quang led a delegation of the province to visit and present gifts to policy families in Chau Doc city, on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of Vinh Te canal completion (1824 - 2024), the 198th anniversary of the death of Mrs. Chau Thi Te (1826 - 2024) and the 192nd anniversary of An Giang province's traditional day (1832 - 2024). Visiting the families of Mr. Tran Phung (Chau Phu B ward), Ly Van Dang (Nui Sam ward), Tran Thanh Tung, Nguyen Hong Dan (Vinh Te commune) and the family of Vietnamese Heroic Mother Ta Thi Bai (Vinh Nguon ward), Secretary of An Giang Provincial Party Committee Le Hong Quang affirmed that the ceremony to celebrate the 200th anniversary of Vinh Te canal completion (1824 - 2024) and commemorate the 198th anniversary of the death of Mrs. Chau Thi Te (1826 - 2024) aims to commemorate, recognize the merits and honor the great contributions of the famous GeneralThoai Ngoc Hau and the people in building Vinh Te canal. At the same time, it contributes to promoting the cultural and historical values of Vinh Te canal to domestic and international tourists, attracting investment resources for local tourism development.
