(AG Provincial E-Portal) - On November 22, 2024, at Oc Eo Cultural Exhibition House (Thoai Son district, An Giang province), the Oc Eo Cultural Relic Management Board officially opened the event "Exhibition of Oc Eo Cultural Antiquities donated by the people and launch of the VR 360 smart tourism product about Oc Eo - Ba The archaeological site."
Attending the event were Deputy Director of the Department of Information and Communications Nguyen Thanh Hai, Director of the Oc Eo Cultural Relic Management Board Nguyen Huu Gieng, Deputy Director of the Center for Trade and Investment Promotion Nguyen Tam Tuyet Trinh and leaders of the Center for Information Technology and Communications; representatives of Mobifone An Giang branch, representatives of the People's Committee of Oc Eo township and officials, employees of the Oc Eo Cultural Relic Management Board, members of Mobifone An Giang, students in the township. The event aims to practically celebrate the 192nd anniversary of An Giang province's Traditional Day (November 22, 1832 - November 22, 2024), and the 19th anniversary of Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day (November 23, 2005 - November 22, 2024).
The exhibition displayed 2,117 precious artifacts of the Oc Eo culture, donated by the people. This is an opportunity for the public to admire artifacts of special historical and cultural value, and at the same time learn more about the Oc Eo culture - one of the oldest and most brilliant civilizations in Vietnam.
In particular, the event also launched the VR 360 smart tourism product, bringing the experience of exploring the archaeological heritage of Oc Eo - Ba The from a digital technology perspective. Through the VR 360 platform, visitors can visit the relics vividly, saving time and effort, marking an important step forward in preserving and promoting the value of cultural heritage associated with modern technology.
The product has been invested and developed by the Center for Information Technology and Communications - Department of Information and Communications and integrated on the iSpace An Giang platform of the provincial electronic information portal, operating at ispace.angiang.vn.
Within the framework of the event, the Organizing Committee coordinated with Mobifone An Giang branch to present 50 gifts worth VND 16 million to 50 disadvantaged households in Oc Eo township. This is a practical action to share and support the local community.
The exhibition not only honors contributions of the people in preserving cultural heritage but also promotes the value of Oc Eo - Ba The archaeological site to the public. The combination of cultural preservation and digital transformation promises to open a new direction, contributing to raising the level of heritage tourism in An Giang.
