Dismissal and additional election of several members of the Provincial People's Committee

(AG Provincial E-Portal) - On the morning of March 12, the 28th extraordinary session of the 10th Provincial People's Council (2021–2026 term) was convened to review and approve 12 draft resolutions submitted by the Standing Committee of the People's Council and the Provincial People's Committee.

The session was chaired by Mr. Le Van Nung, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Council of An Giang Province, along with Mr. Do Tan Kiet and Ms. Dinh Thi Viet Huynh, Vice Chairpersons of the People's Council of An Giang Province. The event was also attended by Mr. Ho Van Mung, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Chairman of the People's Committee of An Giang Province.

During the session, the council approved the dismissal of Mr. Nguyen Tiec Hung from his position as Head of the Ethnic Affairs Committee of the 10th Provincial People's Council (2021–2026 term) following the consolidation of the council’s committees. Additionally, the council approved the dismissal of six members of the Provincial People's Committee (2021–2026 term) due to work reassignments or retirement: Mr. Tang Phu An (former Director of the Department of Science and Technology), Mr. Le Nguyen Chau (former Director of the Department of Home Affairs), Mr. Nguyen Quoc Cuong (former Director of the Department of Construction), Mr. Thai Minh Hien (former Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment), Mr. Nguyen Si Lam (former Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development), and Mr. Tran Hoa Hop (former Chief of the Office of the Provincial People's Committee).

Furthermore, the session elected three new members to the Provincial People's Committee: Mr. Le Ky Quang (Chief of the Office of the Provincial People's Committee), Mr. Nguyen Phu Tan (Director of the Department of Construction), and Mr. Nguyen Nhu Anh (Director of the Department of Home Affairs)

The session also passed a resolution extending the allocation period for project funding until the end of 2025 for projects utilizing central and local budget resources. Additionally, adjustments and supplements to the detailed allocation of the 2025 public investment plan from the local budget were approved.
