(AG Provincial E-Portal) - On the afternoon of February 11, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of An Giang province Ho Van Mung chaired a meeting with a high-level delegation of Kep province, Kingdom of Cambodia led by Provincial Governor Som Piseth, who visited and wished the provincial leaders a Happy New Year on the occasion of the Spring Binh Ngo 2026.
On behalf of Kep Province's delegation, Governor Som Piseth thanked An Giang leaders for their warm welcome and wished the province's leaders and people a happy new year. He praised An Giang's development achievements and hoped the two provinces would boost people-to-people exchanges and economic cooperation, building a peaceful, friendly, and sustainable border.
At the meeting, on behalf of An Giang's Party Committee, government, and people, Chairman Ho Van Mung welcomed the delegation and highlighted the visit's significance in strengthening ties between the two provinces.
An Giang Provincial People's Committee Chairman Ho Van Mung briefed the Kep Province delegation on the local socio-economic situation, saying that in 2025, An Giang achieved an impressive GRDP growth rate of 8.39%, leading the Mekong Delta region and ranking 14th out of 34 provinces nationwide.
Chairman Ho Van Mung hopes the two provinces will continue to cooperate closely and effectively to boost socio-economic development, especially border trade between An Giang and Cambodian localities, and between the two countries.
He also emphasized strengthening cooperation in preventing crimes and social issues, ensuring border security, and creating a stable environment for economic development and people's livelihoods.
After the meeting, delegates from both provinces exchanged souvenirs and took group photos, showcasing the warm ties between the neighboring localities./.
