(AG Provincial E-Portal) - On the morning of February 24th, the An Giang Provincial Steering Committee for Science, Technology, Innovation, and Digital Transformation held a conference to summarize the achievements of 2025 and outline the direction and tasks for 2026.

The conference was held in both in-person and online formats, connecting participants from communes, wards, and special zones throughout the province. Mr. Nguyen Tien Hai, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Secretary of the An Giang Provincial Party Committee, and Head of the An Giang Provincial Steering Committee for Science, Technology, Innovation, and Digital Transformation, chaired the conference. Also attending were Mr. Ho Van Mung, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People's Committee; and Lam Minh Thanh, Deputy Secretary of the An Giang Provincial Party Committee.
Delivering a keynote address at the conference, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Secretary of the An Giang Provincial Party Committee, Nguyen Tien Hai, emphasized that to successfully implement the goals set out in Action Program No. 02-CTr/TU dated August 22, 2025, of the Provincial Party Committee on implementing Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW, contributing to the successful implementation of the Resolution of the 1st Provincial Party Congress, term 2025-2030, in 2026, the entire political system needs to be unified and decisive in carrying out tasks with the motto "Breakthrough action, spreading results". The goal is to achieve two breakthrough targets: "The proportion of added value of the digital economy in GRDP reaching 8%" and "The local digital transformation and innovation index ranking 10th out of 34 nationwide".

The Provincial Party Secretary requested continued efforts to raise awareness and responsibility throughout the entire political system, especially among leaders, in implementing the tasks outlined in Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW, dated December 22, 2024, of the Politburo on breakthroughs in national science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation.
It is urgently to build and comprehensively improve mechanisms and policies for the development of science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation, including policies and solutions for human resource development; promote the strong development of the digital society and digital citizens; and accelerate the transfer and application of science and technology in each sector, field, and locality. The Venture Capital Fund and a Science, Technology, and Innovation Development Fund for the province have been agreed to be established at the conference.

The Department of Science and Technology is tasked with researching, proposing, and advising on solutions and awards for the development of science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation for sectors, fields, and localities that have made significant positive contributions to the province's economic growth.
The Provincial People's Committee is requested to instruct directors of departments and agencies and chairmen of localities to register the content of their implementation of science, technology, innovation and digital transformation development and the results they expect to achieve in 2026, in order to create breakthroughs and decisively implement tasks related to science, technology, innovation and digital transformation development.

In 2025, implementing Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW, An Giang province achieved many positive results in the development of science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation. Digital infrastructure and platforms were invested in; science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation were increasingly applied in various sectors, fields, and aspects of social life, especially in agriculture. The digital economy accounted for 6.4% of GRDP; the satisfaction level of people and businesses reached 18/18 points (100%).
According to statistics from the system monitoring the implementation of resolutions, directives, and conclusions of the Central Government, in 2025: The province completed 130 out of 166 tasks, achieving 78.31%, with the total number of tasks with deadlines reaching 100%. The province prioritized allocating provincial budget funds for the development of science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation in 2025 at VND 1,306.8 billion, including the Science and Technology Project serving the APEC 2027 Summit at VND 119.88 billion.
Throughout the province, 100% of food and retail businesses have implemented electronic invoices generated from cash registers; 100% of primary schools use digital student records; and hospital management software (HIS) has been deployed to 100% of medical facilities with inpatient beds in the province. To date, the province has successfully registered and verified electronic identity accounts for 12,311 organizations, achieving a rate of 79.6%.
In 102 commune, ward, and special zone Party Committees, the percentage of units assigning specialized positions for digital transformation and information security is 10%. As of January 31, 2026, nearly 14,000 people, including officials, civil servants, employees, students, and pupils in the province, participated in mass online digital skills training courses.
