An Giang Provincial Women's Union held a meeting with officials and Khmer ethnic women on the occasion of the Chol Chnam Thmay Festival in 2025

(AG Provincial E-Portal) - On April 11, the Standing Committee of the Women's Union of An Giang Province organized a meeting with officials and heads of Khmer ethnic women's groups in celebration of the Chol Chnam Thmay Festival in 2025.

Attending the event were Comrade Phan Thi Diem, President of the Women's Union of An Giang Province; Vo Thi Thuy Tien, Deputy Secretary of Tinh Bien Town Party Committee; Nguyen Duy Phong, Head of Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Division of Tinh Bien Town Party Committee, Representatives of the Women's Union from Tinh Bien Town, Tri Ton District, and Chau Thanh District joined the event along with 58 officials and heads of Khmer ethnic women's groups.

In her speech at the meeting, Comrade Phan Thi Diem, President of the Women's Union of An Giang Province, highlighted the significant contributions of Khmer ethnic women officials and group leaders to the Union's activities and women's movements in recent years. Many women have achieved outstanding results, serving as exemplary leaders in implementing campaigns and movements initiated by higher-level unions and local authorities. Women's Union members, particularly Khmer group leaders, have united in support of the Party committees and authorities in effectively fulfilling economic-social tasks, ensuring defense-security, actively participating in patriotic movements, and contributing to the development of An Giang as a prosperous and civilized region.

Additionally, Comrade Phan Thi Diem expressed her hope that the Women's Unions at the district and town levels would continue to focus on improving the lives of officials and members of Khmer ethnic women's groups in the future. She encouraged timely visits, support, and assistance for impoverished or disadvantaged Khmer women, especially during festivals and holidays, to ensure that they enjoy a warm and fulfilling celebration.

The meeting served as an opportunity for Khmer ethnic women officials and group leaders to interact, exchange information, and discuss socio-economic development, the implementation of Party guidelines and state policies, and the Union's activities and women's movements initiated by different levels of the Women's Union. This event inspired the officials to continue striving to achieve in the Union's activities and women's movements in their localities.
