An Giang launches 2025 support plan for small and medium enterprises

(AG Provincial E-Portal) - On May 26, the People’s Committee of An Giang Province issued a plan to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the province for the year 2025.

According to the plan, eligible beneficiaries include enterprises established, organized, and operating in accordance with the Law on Enterprises, meeting the criteria for SMEs as defined in Article 5 of Decree No. 80/2021/ND-CP and other relevant legal regulations. It also includes registered business households that seek to develop and transition into enterprises, as well as agencies, organizations, and individuals involved in SME support activities.

The plan aims to effectively and comprehensively implement policies supporting SMEs as stipulated in the Law on Supporting Small and Medium Enterprises, Government Decree No. 80/2021/ND-CP dated August 26, 2021, and related guiding documents. A key focus is the concrete implementation of solutions to support digital transformation, promote science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation within enterprises, in line with Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024, on national breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation.

Additionally, the plan seeks to accelerate growth and improve the competitiveness of SMEs in the province, creating a favorable investment and business environment. This will allow SMEs to make greater contributions to socio-economic development, economic growth, and increased budget revenue—ultimately enhancing the province’s international competitiveness and integration.

Specifically, the province will provide technology support to SMEs, such as:

•    Covering up to 50% of the cost of consultancy contracts related to digital transformation solutions (business processes, management, production, technology, and business model transformation), capped at VND 50 million per contract per year for small enterprises and VND 100 million per contract per year for medium enterprises.

•    Supporting the adoption of technology and digital platforms: Covering up to 50% of expenses for leasing or purchasing digital transformation solutions to automate and enhance efficiency in business, management, production, and operations—capped at VND 20 million/year for micro enterprises, VND 50 million/year for small enterprises, and VND 100 million/year for medium enterprises.

•    Consulting support for SMEs to access a network of advisors in areas such as finance, accounting, auditing, brand building, and other business-related services (excluding administrative and legal procedure consultations as defined by specialized legal regulations).

•    Covering 100% of consultancy contract value (up to VND 50 million/year for micro enterprises, or up to VND 70 million/year for micro enterprises led by women, those employing a large number of female workers, and social enterprises)

To qualify for support, SMEs must provide complete, timely, and accurate information and documentation, and be accountable for the data submitted. They are required to use provincial support resources appropriately and in compliance with legal regulations, while strictly adhering to applicable laws throughout their business operations.
