Tri Ton hands over 30 Great solidarity houses

(AG Provincial E-Portal) - On March 18, in Luong Phi commune, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of An Giang province and Tri Ton district coordinated with the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) An Giang branch to organize a handover ceremony of 30 Great Solidarity houses to poor households in the district.

Attending the event were Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of An Giang province Ha Minh Trang, Vice Chairman of Tri Ton district People's Committee Tran Van Cuong, Deputy Director of BIDV An Giang branch Le Viet Trung.

The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Tri Ton district allocated 30 Great Solidarity houses to Luong Phi commune with 24 houses, Vinh Gia with 2 houses, An Tuc with 1 house and Ba Chuc town with 3 houses. Each house has a minimum area of 40m2, with a corrugated iron roof, brick walls, tiled floors, etc. The total cost of building the 30 houses is 2.345 billion VND. In which, the cost supported by BIDV An Giang branch is 1.5 billion VND, and households and localities contribute 845 million VND.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Tri Ton district Tran Quoc Cuong expressed his gratitude to BIDV An Giang branch for supporting the district in taking care of the poor. At the same time, he said that Tri Ton is one of the 74 poor districts in the country, with 5 extremely difficult communes. Currently, the whole district has 1,487 poor households and 2,326 near-poor households. 

In 2025, the district is determined to complete the target of eliminating 1,336 temporary and dilapidated houses. Therefore, in addition to the resources of the central and the province, it is very necessary to have the support of organizations and individuals to join hands with the locality to effectively carry out social security work./.
